We asked for a quiet room and got a top floor space well above the college area streets and with a character filled ceiling from dormers- at 6'-4" I didn't hit my head! Generous sized bath [huge for UK] with it's own window, and wonderful breakfast choices. We also managed to use the parking lot adjacent to the hotel for parking, which was an advantage in a heavy-parking use area. Desk reception and staff superior in communications and care. 10 minute walk to center of town, Cathedral, shops- great location.

The top floor [level 4] is not serviced by the elevator, so to get the remoteness from street you carry your bags up one floor of stairs- ok for this 68 year old in good health, but may tax others.

The hotel is in a very convenient location both for getting there from the station and for access into the centre of Exeter. The staff that I had dealings with were friendly, helpful and efficient. When I got back to the hotel, the night I stayed, there was an event on and it was very loud, I was worried I would not be able to sleep but, once in my room, I heard no noise at all and it was fine. The breakfast was good, there was more choice than just the usual 'full English'. The hotel was clean, but it was the staff that made my brief stay so enjoyable and I would certainly stay there again.

There was nothing I really disliked, the only possible criticism is that my room, whilst large and comfortable, was beginning to look a little shabby but everything else was fine and it didn't really bother me

The QCH team are always so welcoming, it is a pleasure to return there when we visit Exeter. We travelled a while back whilst we were in the midst of a later summer heatwave and it was no trouble to kindly let us have an extra fan in the room, which helped enormously. Breakfast sets you up for the day and the location is perfect for ease of getting around. Although no direct parking at the hotel, there is a car park immediately outside, so no issues with parking either. QCH is our "go to" hotel. Nothing not to like !.. Great hotel, great staff, great position .. just great :)

Great central location near City Centre. Within easy walking distance. Attractive old building sited in a nice area. Very efficient and friendly staff who provided a good welcome. Due to a last minute family medical emergency our original booking had to be postponed within the free cancellation period, but they agreed to us rebooking for later in the month with no charge. Clean and comfortable room, good sized comfortable bed, pristine bedding and generous size bathroom. The full English breakfast and buffet was fantastic, with good quality ingredients and great coffee. The waitress was lovely and we enjoyed our stay there. Parking across the road and good information sheet with all details of local restaurants and bars nearby. Would recommend. Our booking. Great value.

All good.

Breakfast was lovely, a great choice, and the cooked breakfast was great, poached eggs must be the chef's speciality. The room was OK with a separate bathroom which was much better than an 'ensuite' squashed into the room as in some hotels.

I was disappointed that the restaurant wasn't functioning as it had said there was one in the advert, but it didn't matter as I explored the places to eat in the city and there were several nearby.

Very pleasant and helpful staff at the front desk, for a late night check-in. Breakfast service and food was also very good (full English breakfast prepared to order, and also Continental breakfast mini-buffet available). Nice peaceful location a 3 minute cab ride away from Exeter St David's rail station (or about a 10 minute walk up the hill). Pretty close to the edge of the University of Exeter campus as well. My room, 104, was small but decently comfortable with a work desk and additional relaxing chair. Bed was very comfortable. Bathroom with shower over tub was nice and fully modern; one caveat is that the large bathroom window overlooking the car park has a roll shade, but is not frosted, So pretty much had to keep the shade closed for privacy). Overall a very good value and a very nice stay!

We were upgraded to the terrace suite on arrival which was large and comfortable, although there was no heating on! Bathroom was enormous! It would have nice to stay another night to try out the jacuzzi bath. The breakfast offered a great choice and the cooked items I had were perfectly done (I'm fussy about my scrambled egg!) A brief overnight stay but a good hotel choice.

We should have asked about the heating in the room as it was pretty chilly when we came back after a concert.

Great central location for visiting Exeter with everything within a few minutes walk. Beautiful old character building on a lovely square with plenty of parking options. Terrace family room is great size. Staff really friendly and breakfast staff couldn’t do enough for us and breakfast selection excellent!

One room bit small and had low ceilings. And all rooms we had although they were nice could do with a bit of tlc as looking a bit tired in places. Mini air on units would also be welcomed as rooms hot due to recent weather but downstairs room unable to leave terrace doors open to get some ventilation in for security reasons.

The breakfast was great, with plenty of choice. The room was what we wanted, with a bath, shower and drink making facilities. The location was great for us as it is on one of the main routes into town. We were lucky with parking as we got a spot and had it for the whole weekend. I can imagine it could be a bit hit and miss at times. And finally the hotel returned my hat after I had left it in the room when we left.

It was a bit noisy at times being at the front of the hotel.

The hotel was warm and welcoming and we were greeted with a smile by the man on reception. The room was of a medium size, comfortable, clean and had a bath with a shower over which was most welcome. The bedding was of good quality with comfortable pillows and a large window made the room light and sunny. The TV in the room was a good size and there was plenty of tea/coffee supplied in the room. The dining room is spacious with plenty of space around the tables so you feel relaxed when sitting down for breakfast. The dining room staff were pleasant and friendly, we would say they are some of the best hotel staff we have encountered on our travels. They did not rush you, so each morning we were able to enjoy a leisurely breakfast. The breakfast had a very wide variety of cereals, fresh fruit, nuts, dries fruits, fresh fruit salad, yogurts, pastries, a wide variety of juices, tea or filter coffee is served fresh to your table, other flavoured tea bags are readily available. The cooked breakfast was cooked and presented beautifully using quality ingredients. The breakfast menu is extensive, omelettes, eggs benedict, cold meats, vegetarian options and many more choices. The hotel was only a five minute walk from Exeter Central Station, and a ten minute walk to the town centre. The Cathedral is also a ten minute walk away and a further five minutes on from there will get you to the Quay. There are lots of places to eat nearby and the hotel supply's you with a sheet printed with a lot of them giving details of the distance from the hotel and what type of food they serve. The hotel have thought of everything they can to be accommodating of their guests.
