Absolutely beautiful hotel which is maintained to 5 * standard. The staff and management are friendly, accommodating and go above and beyond to ensure that the guests are comfortable and enjoy their stay.

I stayed with my partner and I honestly cannot fault it apart from the karaoke on the Friday which didn’t stop until 11pm but I was aware of this, the staff were amazing and friendly and would do anything for you , food was amazing and if you like large meals this is the place to go our room amazing

Myself and my partner as guests were sat awaiting for our food when a woman started telling staff that they were lazy and needed to make sue that they needed make sure everything was done which myself and partner didn’t think was appropriate also my partner is a health and safety officer and he observed a member of staff standing on a chair not a pair of steps to reach a bottle from the top shelf

The White Hart is located in the centre of St Austell with a car park across the road to the rear of the property, All of the staff we met were very polite and efficient. We had room 14 which was adequate for a 3 nights stay but not for longer due to its small size. The breakfast is excellent, there is lots of choice and it is well cooked. We dined in the bar area on Thursday which is roast night. If you don't want to eat at the Hotel there is a wetherspoons 300 yards away.

Nothing really, just the size of the room could have been better

For two weeks we have been touring England, this Motel has been the best. Upon our arrival, we were flustered a bit, but this young man at reception recognised that, and immediately came outside to show us where to park, took our heavy bag to our room, explained the facility and options and made us really feel like valued guests. The meal that night (semi final football) was impeccable - best we have had in two weeks. The free cooked breakfast set us up for the day. One of the highlights of our stay was the staff service.

We loved everything - you can’t change the roads and it can be quite difficult to reach - but you get that in many English towns.

I loved this hotel - it has a lot of character. The staff were very friendly and helpful. I was very grateful to the duty manager for kindly carrying my suitcase up two flights to my room and bringing it down again when I left. The room was spacious and had everything I needed. Breakfast was very good and generous. I also ate at the hotel in the evenings and the food was again very good with plenty of choice. The location was excellent for getting to local sights such as Charlestown (a 2 mile walk), Eden Project, The Lost Gardens of Heligan, and Mevagissey (all these by local bus).

The staff were very friendly and welcoming. The evening bar staff migel and another young lad were exceptional with there customer service and felt so welcomed . Food was beautiful we reserved evening table and can't fault it at all. The location was great easy access to lots of places near by . Room was large and had everything you needed.

It was quite noisy at night , we could here people shouting outside but that's not the hotels fault I would still stay here again . The pillows weren't comfortable but again we made it work as the bed was comfortable.

Good base for getting around Cornwall. The pub/restaurant served excellent food. The hotel was a little tired and could do with a little upgrade of decor/paint. Staff were friendly. Car parking facilities free.

No fridge, needed as we stayed for 4 nights and it was very warm. St Austell itself was a very basic non-tourist type of town. Not quintessential or pretty. Lots of shops/high street facilities. Only 3 pubs including the one we stayed in (White Hart and thankfully a Wetherspoons within 8 minute walk.

We were welcomed very warmly by Mikel the restaurant manager. Room was warm and bed was very comfortable. Breakfast and evening meal was delicious. All the staff were very polite and caring. I was very impressed by Jack, newest member of staff. He had recently started his job and showed so much initiative. We will definitely be returning to stay at this lovely hotel.

We got a bit muddled getting to the car park but Mikel soon sorted us out and reassured us we weren't the only guests who got a little confused with the directions.

Nicely cooked fresh vegetables, good hot food. A guest at another table complimented them on a good vegan breakfast. Very comfortable bed, pristine bed linen, excellent spacious shower. Very close to St Austell station and bus station so excellent for a car free traveller. Easy to get to Eden, Heligan, Fowey and further.

some may have difficulty because it's an interesting old building, with uneven floors and numerous small flights of stairs (with handrails). A lively bar but not noisy in the bedroom.

The room was clean and had all the expected amenities. The shower was especially good with excellent water pressure. Check in was very straightforward, and the included breakfast was delicious. The staff were all very friendly and helpful and make our stay great.

Due to the age of the building there were a few creaks from people in the room above, but it didn't really affect our stay. If you're particularly noise sensitive, might just be worth bringing some earplugs.
