Impressive building in an impressive location. Some parking in front, info center next door, castle a street away. I forgot I booked a room for 2, private shower and toilet. Super surprised myself. For me, personally, one of the best beds I have slept in. Really hard mattress, but I prefer it that way. USB charging station by the bed, so no electric plug for UK electricity needed. Guy at reception really helpful.

For an overnight stay I have nothing to fuss about. Maybe shower. Fixed shower head on a fixed hight. Smaller person can get head wet easily.

We stayed in two double rooms in the attic. Very friendly staff who met us with several requests. Pleasant, clean rooms, the kitchen is well equipped, the living room is spacious. There is also an outdoor grassy part of the yard. The building itself and its surroundings radiate history. The location is very close to the center, but it is on a hill, so expect a climb.

Travelers with walking problems or lots of luggage should take into account that the building does not have an elevator, and there is some climbing to get to the attic rooms.

Room - OK, it was good to have a private room available Bed - all right Shower - water was hot - acceptable Staff - very helpful at entry desk Safety - important factor - building seemed well staffed and safe Location - right in the middle of cultural attractions to walk to- the best part of the stay

Thin walls - enabled late night noise to come through Detergent or perhaps insecticide - produced itchiness Room price - close to what would be charged at a guest house, so it seemed high Wifi - really did not work well

Twin room. Very clean, more spacious than I expected and quite bright and airy. Sink in the main area with separate shower and loo on either side. Some storage provided (but not hanging space - I used the shower curtain rail for that). Handy bedside table & lamp and power socket, plus one chair. Bed was comfy although I did use both pillows (one per bed provided). Didn’t use any communal area so cannot comment on those. Parked free using onstreet parking immediate outside the hostel grounds.

Ok, I don't want to spoil anything 😂 At first it was a bit shocking, but it quickly turned into fun! I loved this place! Crazy, but loved it! If you look at it as a youth hostel (as you should), it was a very nice and also well secured place. We could even leave our baggage there until we were done looking around in the center. The kitchen is well equipped, the staff was very nice and helpful.

The loud party next doors! Also, a big problem was that the wifi was not avaliable from the room that we stayed in. And finally, I think it would be nice to have two blankets instead of one, because I was staying there with my mother, so I slept on the floor, and it was pretty cold at night. I don't really want to point out other things, since it is a youth hostel, naturally it is not aiming to provide wellness features 😂

As far as a hostel goes, the Stirling Youth Hostel is the right place to crash at a reasonable price. You don't get anything fancy with your room but the beds were beyond comfortable and the showers had the most amazing pressure and plenty of hot water. We only stayed for one night on our travels through Stirling and did not take advantage of their breakfast options. The location is PERFECT for those without a car because everything is in walking distance.

Great location very close to Stirling Castle, comfortable room and guest lounge. Great staff and friendly other guests.

There was a fault with the ensuite toilet which meant there was a rushing water sound for 4 seconds every 22 seconds - that’s a lot of occurrences during the night. Unfortunately I didn’t notice it before the staff finished work at 11pm and didn’t think it was worth calling the emergency number so just went with it. More an irritation than a big deal.

The kitchen facilities along with a spacious dining room. The showers were easy to use and hot. Staff were extremely helpful and friendly with loads of information for guests at the reception. Lots of options for either the food provided or for whether you wanted to cook your own. The private rooms were good and a nice size for a couple. The lounge on the first floor had a TV, board games and books to keep you occupied if you weren't going out. The location had the bus from the Park and Ride stop outside its door and the hostel.was not far from both the train and bus station. The views from the hostel was excellent showing the nearby hills of Stirling. Their was plenty of shops and eateries along with bars not too far from the hostel. The rooms were quiet and we never got disturbed by anything.

Nothing really apart from the hike up the hill but we were at the top of a hill so at least it gave us exercise 😁

Off street parking, washing machine, dryer, drying room, self use kitchen or have a buffet breakfast. The Youth Hostel is next door to the Old Jail, Holy Rude & Stirling Castle. Down the street is the best restaurants, shops & cafes. The bus and train station are nearby. Walk to other historic sites. Very helpful and friendly staff. I enjoyed staying here.

There was no wifi in my room.

The staff were really friendly and helpful, with great suggestions and local information. Special shout-out to Hamish, who even gave us a Gaelic tutorial. Our fellow hostellers were a diverse mix of ages and origins, nice folk to share a busy breakfast with. The beds are comfortable, the facilities excellent and serviceable (it IS a hostel, so no luxury spa). The location is amazing, at the top of the hill, close to everything - but this means a STEEP climb up from the bus and train stations. It looks close on a map, but the elevation gain is significant.

The WiFi only worked well in the reception area. It turned out our room was right above the kitchen exhaust fan, which roared to life at 5 am.
