The dinner on the final night was exceptional, with great attention to detail- a delight! Our waiter, Johan, was well organised, treating the very new recruit fairly. This was served in The Fig dining room. Dinner on the first night served in the Bistro was good but service was slow. The bedroom overlooked the main street in Chipping Campden, was large with a sitting area. The bathroom was big with both bath and separate shower. Lots of hot water and good quality towels. The beautiful garden is large with plenty of quiet areas, ideal on a hot sunny day or evening. Breakfast on both days was good.

Breakfast on the first day was amazingly slow for us. Bacon and egg for me and porridge for Angela took just over 40 minutes from ordering. Unfortunately several table were served before us even though we came down early to help avoid the rush. The breakfast staff could not cope very well with the numbers. However the food when it arrived was fine. Breakfast on the second day couldn’t have been quicker!

The rooms were all nice. I booked 5 rooms. The garden suites were lovely and the standard rooms were adequate. The Spa was great and this would be a lovely place to come for a few days to explore the Cotswolds with your partner - go out for a ramble and then enjoy the Spa before dinner. There was ample onsite car parking available at the back of the hotel. The staff were all great and the breakfast was wonderful.

The superior room with bath was right at the top of Hotel and there were no lifts. In this room there is a weird mattress that made a noise every time you turned in your sleep so I would avoid this room. Hotel staff call this a special room because of the bed - well this was true for all the wrong reasons. There is only Tesla charging available at the hotel so if you dont have a Tesla - you cant charge your car.

The restaurant at this hotel is outstanding; its quality over quantity but everything we chose was cooked to perfection with beautiful flavours and attention to detail. We stayed for three nights and we were half board. We were able to use the spa on two of the three days, for two hours each time. The spa facilities are basic but still very pleasant. All the staff are friendly and professional (with a special thanks to Johann). Value for money is relative. Last year we stayed at a four-star spa hotel in the Austrian Alps. The outlook was spectacular, the food was excellent and the spa facilities were extensive. We paid the same for seven nights there as we did for three nights here.

We booked the half board option through booking.com but this was misleading. Our confirmation stated that “Breakfast and dinner are included in the room rate” but actually the latter was a £40 discount per person on the evening meal. Essentially this covers one of the more basic choices of starter and a cheaper option from the mains with one side; so forfeiting dessert. Unfortunately this was only explained to us when we received the bill.

Beautiful, comfortable and well situated in the heart of the village. Spa, though small, was very relaxing with a warm hydrotherapy pool and steam room. We had a junior suite and it was lovely - exactly as pictured. Huge bathroom with bath and shower and good sized room with a triple sofa and single seater sofa. Property (and town more generally) is dog friendly - let the hotel know beforehand you’re travelling with a dog as there’s a small additional charge per night for the dog to be in the room (£20)

Spa closed by 6pm and was small, but we enjoyed it all the same. Wish it would be open later.

The breakfast was great, the room was great and the hotel facilities were great. I would highly recommend the hotel and the location in Chipping Campden is fantastic.

Minor things. Reception service was ok but an offer of taking bags to room when ready would have been nice. Small maintenance items, light controls were not working brilliantly, the TV was not attached to the stand properly and damaging the wall, the TV in the bathroom didn’t work and the light fittings above the lovely bath had bulbs missing and didn’t function. Lovely hotel but these finer points would make it even better.

The hotel was lovely. My room was very large and exceptionally clean. Breakfast was delicious and well portioned and I liked that the hotel is reducing waste by asking guests to pre-order breakfast the day before. All the staff we very professional and service focused. I liked the ability to park the car for free too.

I had a few treatments at the spa. The body scrub and facials were fantastic. But the pedicure was awkward. I had a short robe on and my foot was on the Beauticians knee. It was uncomfortable. The beautician also did a poor job with the nail polish and cuticle are. I've had much better at walk-in nail salons. To the spa's credit, they did everything they could to rectify the situation. I received a discount and when I asked to remove the nail polish, they organised this with a smile. So the service was excellent.

The location, spa including staff, garden, facilities and food were all very good. Reception staff were friendly but seemed distracted.. A bench in the dining room and another piece of furniture was broken but I didn't report this as we are trying to relax and enjoy ourselves. The manager should be aware I'm sure. The decor and furnishings need a little attention in my honest opinion ie scuffs on restaurant walls, some stains on the carpet and seating but I'm sure this will be seen to when possible. The food was excellent. We would recommend the hotel which was better than most especially the spa, food and location which was quiet and classy.

Some minor things as listed above but overall we would stay again.

Our bedroom was absolutely lovely and the bed really comfortable, in fact one of the most comfortable beds we have ever slept in. The bathroom was lovely and the breakfast was excellent. The evening meal was delicious.

Very disappointed in the Spa. The water in the pool was ridiculously hot - 35 degrees according to the receptionist. There were no showers by the pool before you entered. The steam room wasn't working. The jacuzzi was rather odd. I had chosen the hotel because of the pool but we certainly didn't want to stay in a hot bath on a hot day. We were looking forward to a cool swim. We had a problem with one of the dishes where a broken piece of porcelain was found but it was quickly replaced. It cast a bit of a shadow over the meal.

Location is excellent. I took the bus from Stratford-upon-Avon and it dropped me almost in front. Food in the restaurant was very good.

Odd relationships between the hotel and the spa. The phone goes to front desk at hotel who tells you they can’t schedule anything. As it was raining, I asked them to help me get a taxi to Broadway Tower after my facial, as it’s easier for them to call and such, and I was getting a facial for 1 1/2 hour at their spa. When I returned I was told they couldn’t reach anyone. Seemed rather lame.

We'd booked what was described as a small double but for a night it was perfectly big enough and charming . The grounds and situation are fantastic - bang in the middle of the famous old High street with parking as well (though you need to find it behind the hotel)

A note of warning - the shower in our room (2) is on the low side so be prepared to bend over if washing your hair (not their fault an old room). Also felt it was a bit odd they set the bar tables for breakfast service at about 10pm so not as welcoming as it might have been after we came back from dinner. (Italian across the road - very good)
