My wife and I recently stayed at the Inn on the Alameda in Santa Fe, and while we had mixed feelings about our experience, there were certainly some highlights worth mentioning. Let's start with the positives. The staff at the Inn on the Alameda were incredibly friendly and helpful throughout our stay. They greeted us warmly and were always ready to assist with any inquiries or requests we had. Their excellent service definitely left a positive impression on us. One of the standout features of this inn is its beautiful ambiance. The adobe units and the meticulously landscaped walkways create a charming and authentic Santa Fe atmosphere. It was a pleasure strolling through the grounds and taking in the lovely surroundings. The breakfast buffet at the inn surpassed our expectations. With a wide selection of both warm and cold items, there was something to please every palate. The servers were attentive and genuinely friendly, ensuring a pleasant start to our day. We also had the opportunity to dine at the restaurant in the courtyard at night, and we were delighted with our experience. The dinner was excellent, and the ambiance of the courtyard added a special touch to our meal. Additionally, we found the restaurant prices to be quite reasonable, which was a pleasant surprise.

However, one significant drawback for us was the lack of a view from the ground-level rooms. In our particular room, there was a fence located just one foot in front of the window, resulting in a perpetually dim and somewhat claustrophobic atmosphere. This lack of natural light and view was a disappointment and detracted from our overall enjoyment of the room. While we understand that the inn's architecture and layout may contribute to this issue, it would have been helpful to know about the potential limitations of the ground-level rooms when making our reservation. This way, we could have made a more informed decision about our accommodation.

I did not want to write any reviews of the other hotels we stayed in except for this one because the Inn at the Alameda proved itself so different than the others. The room and facilities, of course, were outstanding, but what separated this hotel from the other places we stayed was the staff! Professional, friendly, helpful, and welcoming, they all extended themselves to us. We came in early because of the heat, and while they could not assign us a room because ours was not ready, the staff went out of their way to make us comfortable. This happened throughout the entire time of our stay. (And yes, their renowned breakfast was the best one we had on this trip!)

This is being nitpicky since there was a microwave oven available in a room by the lobby, but it would have been nice to have a microwave oven in the room...? Thank you.

Excellent customer service has to be this inn’s motto. Everyone was helpful and kind. Our breakfast was outstanding. We made use of the inn’s shuttle to the Rail yard outdoor market which dropped us off in the perfect location. No vying for parking.

When you arrive you must climb a few steps to get to reception which did not allow for wheelchair access. This too was the case for the breakfast area. we had to take a bit of a challenging step for my mom’s wheelchair and my husband and I had to work together to get her inside the breakfast/dinner room. I am not sure that can be changed, but it was our only concern.

First and foremost it has to be said; the staff at this hotel is incredible - notably outstanding! The servers, bartenders, breakfast attendants, shuttle drivers, room attendants and front desk staff are all so friendly and engaged with the guests. Not in a "we are a venerable institution" trained sort of way, but in a very genuine, "I love my job, my co-worker's are family and I am respected by my employer" sort of way. When we mentioned this we were told there's almost no employee turnover at this hotel. I say it shows. We were 2 couples traveling together and we all agreed. Bring tip money! The rooms are large, comfortable, tidy, & in good repair. They keep them freshened up, i.e., newer carpet and shower curtains. Nice linens, comfy pillows. Our rooms had cute little patios. We appreciated the free parking. They have hot tubs in two locations on the property. We had rooms 159 and 155. There's a small, surprisingly deep hot tub at the end of the hallway, it couldn't be more convenient. It has a lift chair so it's accessible. We enjoyed it multiple times. Breakfast is included. It's a buffet, but has many choices including both red and green chili. Our waiter, Frank, gave us walking maps and told us, "Don't miss seeing the art collection at the Capital." We ended up taking his advice and loved it. We never would have gone to the capital had he not made the recommendation. Breakfast is served in what is Joe's Tequila Bar in the afternoon and evening. They have indoor seating and a lovely outdoor courtyard. We really enjoyed having this restaurant and bar on site. We could dine, have drinks prior to dinner, or a night cap. In our two night stay we managed to do all 3. We even closed the bar down but that's easy to do since they close at 9pm. Unlike hotels on the Plaza, it's walkable to both the Plaza and the Canyon Road galleries. The hotel also offers a free shuttle...

One ply toilet paper.

They pride themselves on being an all inclusive property and they make their guests feel very welcome and comfortable. The breakfast was wonderful as was the staff!! All inclusive means that they offer free breakfast, parking, free local calls from room, fitness center and hot tub and free shuttle service. No nickel and diming guests, which is a breathe of fresh air without charging a per night resort fee. Other hotels should learn from their example!! A wonderful place to stay!!

I wouldn’t change a thing - except maybe have the hotel bar open on Sundays

We loved the staff. Everyone was so cheerful, kind and helpful. We received excellent advice on where to go.

Housekeeping could be better. They failed to notice when we needed things. I had to ask for more shower soap. When I ran out of shampoo and conditioner, I started using what I had brought. On our last day we resorted to using the extra box of tissues as toilet paper. They really need to canvas the supplies everyday and leave a full supply. We should not have to ask for things.

The staff was amazing! Always a smile on their face. All were so friendly, from checking in with Terry to the amazing staff at breakfast, Reyes, Irma and the Gentleman that moved back to Santa Fe where his Mom was from. The rooms were immaculately clean, the breakfast was amazing and did I mention the staff. All amazing and a short 5 minute walk to the shops and also 5 minute walk to Canyon Road (art galleries). We love you Santa Fe and will definitely return to the Inn on the Alameda.

My second stay at this charming inn lived up to all my memories. It is well staffed, well maintained and well located. This is a friendly, delightful hotel that obviously is lovingly cared for. The staff is so welcoming that.you instantly feel at home. The included breakfast and shuttle service add to the regular amenities. I could spend all day in the garden and wouldn't stay anywhere else in Santa Fe.

Central location, very clean, abundant bath amenities and daily cleaning, daily towel change, great balcony. Cozy lobby fireplace. We stayed twice and the second time we liked it more because we were in the newer building. The second room was large, bright, and the second building had an elevator, which was lacking in the older building.

The parking is tight, as mentioned by some others. We weren’t told about the hot tub until we were about to leave. We would have liked to use it after our hikes. We had trouble finding a place to sit at breakfast and had to wait a few times.

Breakfast was well above average Items fresh and varied and generally including a southwest item. The staff was exceptionally friendly and helpful. Special compliments to Reyes. Front desk staff also very friendly, knowledgeable. The location was great. Easy walk to canyon rd and downtown . The Railyard was a little further, but we had a car. The hotel does have a free shuttle.

No pool but did have hot tubs. No elevator for 2nd floor.
