comfortable and staff very helpful. I was trekking for a week in between two stays and they stored my bag with no charge.

Being at the front street noise could be intrusive and there are no stairs to avoid crowds at the lifts

We got one room service breakfast and it was wonderful - quite pricey so we added what we could, and it was really delicious! Juice was from consecrate though, and not nice. The rest was great though, especially the hot breakfast options

Most staff were great, but we had a suitcase transport issue that the staff member I called was just not interested in helping us with - I know it likely isn't in their job description, but they didn't even bother trying to direct us to who could help. Being tourists we had no idea, and it left a pretty bad impression at it was the last interaction with staff that we had.

Our room was clean and being of first floor, close to the buffet breakfast room and the laundry services which we used during our stay. Enjoyed the continental and hot buffet breakfast spread and choices of fruits, soy milk and lactose free milk for patrons. The restaurant staff were very efficient in clearing tables and maintaining good supply of food for breakfast. Value for money. Family friendly place to stay and excellent location to most other eating, shopping and sight seeing places. You can walk around to most places. Good choices of tea bags supplied in room. UHT milk provided.

We experienced a 2 hours short power black out, which is out of control of the hotel. It happened after dinner and one of us had shower. Power restored shortly.

Fantastic location, big hotel, terrific staff, adjacent parking, good value for money and terrific restaurant. I particularly liked the buffet breakfasts which I thought were really good value. Could easily walk to the Boag brewery and City park was a short stroll away - there were macaques (monkeys) in that park (free to view). I really enjoyed the Cataract Gorge cruise (very good value and scenic).

One of two rooms we booked looked a little shabby as that floor had not been renovated, but the cost of the stay was very reasonable, so I didn't think this was that much of a drawback. Perhaps ring to check before booking if concerned.

Great location, the reception staff leave a good impression, the rooms are a good size and have comfortable beds. The bathrooms are modern.

The hotel restaurant is a bit on the expensive side. I struggled to contact the reception. I had to use my mobile phone because the room phones don’t work. When I finally got an answer after several attempts, the foreign staff member thought I was asking for a to be dog sent to the room when I wanted a cot for my baby. I had to call back a few hours later and chase up the cot.

Right in the heart of wee little Lonnie, a minutes walk to restaurants, pubs etc. Quiet and comfortable rooms, much larger than average hotel rooms.

Major minus is that the lifts are not keyed access, nor are they in direct view of Reception. We saw ( and shared the lift with) dozens of order delivery guys going in and out of floors with nothing to stop them. This fundamental lack of security should not be happening in such a large hotel. The usual awful pillows found in all Australian hotels and the older building problem of not enough conveniently located power points.

Launceston is a quiet little town and this hotel is set at a quiet corner yet very accessible. The room was large for the two of us. We could not park at the carpark for our first night as it seems there was an event that day. We managed to park at the hotel for the 2nd night and the parking fee was cheap.

The room was a little old but we didn't really mind it. The wifi did not work in our room so we continued to use our own data plan. Told the reception about the wifi problem during check-out and the person said they could have settled the problem for us.

Location ie Just around the corner was a circle of lots of restaurants. Just up on the next block an excellent cocktail bar 'The Barrell Collective' . Walk to Cataract gorge in 20 mins. V reasonable price Good laundry facilities v cheap at $4 friendly staff - i forgot to hand over my keys, left and had to call up to check out late accordingly and they were very nice about it

Place a manual for the dryer in the laundry - didnt seem to heat and seemed to stop early but unsure why weird section between inside and outside sliding doors front of hotel which felt superhot

The best thing about this old hotel is it's location, we went over to Launceston for the football and UTAS is just a short walk from the hotel making it so easy for us. The extra bonus was that there was a Farmers Market directly across the road Saturday morning and a cafe right next door for breakfast and lunch. Yes the hotel has breakfast but we prefer to spread the money around small businesses in the area.

The hotel has such charm but it is also a little tired. Most of the charm was in the lobby and hallways, the room itself just felt old. The set up of the bathroom was terrible, the positioning of the bathroom door made maneuvering the space very difficult basically dividing the bathroom in two and watch out for the doorstop right Infront of the toilet, why would you put a doorstop right there, ouch! Lastly, the coffee from the bar wasn't very nice and the bar closes way too early. No mini bar in our room either so too bad if you want a drink after 10pm!

The rooms have been refurbished since I stay last time a few years ago. The bathroom was much more modern and nicely refubished. Rooms seem the have new colour schemes too. The hotel itself was lovely.

The one really negative thing is that the carpark is a public carpark NOT a dedicated hotel carpark so if you leave during the day you are not guaranteed finding a parking spot when you return because the hotel does not have any designated spots in the public carpark. I advised reception that I have prepaid carparking for my three night stay and questioned the carpark being public. The receptionist said, well if you can't find a carparking space, park at another public carpark in the neighbourhood and we'll refund your carparking fee. That was not the point. I paid to park at the hotel not another public carpark.
