Abigail's has a great reputation with almost legendary status for their breakfast's. It was why we chose to stay, for the first time, at this thirty room boutique hotel. I expected to be happy with our choice, I expected the breakfasts to be very good, the rooms to be comfortable and clean, the staff to be friendly and efficient. What I did not expect was virtual perfection in every aspect of Abigail's. It is simply an outstanding on every aspect you may wish to judge. A very solid five out of five.
Just a bit of caution about the parking lot, it is quite small with tight spaces. There are no elevators so you need to be mobile enough to handle stairs.

Incredible hospitality! The accommodations were beautiful, the room was spacious and so cozy! The bed was incredibly comfortable and the nights were quiet. The breakfast was tasty and there were lovely areas in which to sit and relax outside of our room. The fireplace was wonderful, and they even served a delicious snack in the evening. And the location! We walked into downtown in less than 10 minutes, passing a cathedral less than a block away. It doesn’t get better than this.
I can’t complain about anything, we were delighted. The only thing I can think of is it would have been nice to have some high-protein, low sugar options for breakfast, and the option for decaf coffee in the evenings.

The staff was amazing. Every single person went out of their way to make you welcome and comfortable. The breakfast was the best hotel breakfast we’ve ever had. Sit down with different choices each day and you got to reserve your time. It was excellent. They had lots of special touches like cookies upon arrival, snacks in the afternoon, wine available in the “library “ for a small fee. They had everything you needed available in the room also. The decor was beautiful also.
It is not very accessible if you have mobility issues. They have some accessible rooms but you need to be sure and book those directly with the hotel. The person who checked us in did carry out luggage up the stairs for us. Again, the people were great! The jetted tube was nice but if you wanted a shower it is very tall and difficult to get in and out of. They did supply grab bars per request which helped. My husband felt the chairs were not comfortable and there was not good lighting if you wanted to sit and read in your room at night.

Absolutely everything. This hotel is managed perfectly and the guests are treated impeccably. It was a perfect location to access everything we needed within Victoria and it was simple to get out of the city and into the forest. If I were in Victoria, I would stay nowhere else.
There is nothing to not like about the hotel itself. The city of Victoria really needs to do something about its fentanyl and meth problems. There are homeless people folded over on fent virtually everywhere you walk in the city. It is really depressing and enough that I will most likely never return. I cannot fault the hotel for this, but it is a reality that visitors should be made aware.

Just a few blocks from Victoria's harbor area, the location of this hotel can't be beat. We stayed in one of the rooms in the main building. The beds were amazingly comfy. Our room was decorated in a manner that matched the ambiance of the hotel. The full breakfast was delicious and varied from day to day. We'd definitely stay here again should we find ourselves in Victoria. Note: Instead of calling it a "hotel", Abigail's felt more like a lovely "inn" because of the architecture, decor, amazing breakfast, 24-hr coffee/tea availability, afternoon snacks, etc..

Everything. The breakfast was amazing and we felt we were treated like Royalty. Most staff went above and beyond to make our stay as comfortable and inviting as possible. I’ve already recommended to friends who will be visiting BC in August.
The night person recommended Cafe Brio for dinner but did not offer to call for reservations. We walked over there to find there was an hour and a half wait so we had to find another place. Our host at Cafe Brio was surprised that no one from Abigail’s called ahead as that is what they always do. He was able to find us another place and called ahead to make reservations for us. We made our own reservations with Cafe Brio for our return stay on our last night of the trip. We were not disappointed. Although that same night person asked if we needed help with our luggage he didn’t initiate any help for us to carry up to the first floor.

The staff were genuinely friendly from start to finish - everyone went above and beyond to make our stay great. We had to have dietary changes to the breakfast but they remembered who we were each morning and gave us the alternatives without even asking. The food was great and we loved the selection offered. The hotel is very quiet and has such a lovely reading nook. The location was about a 15-20 min walk to the harbour in a quiet neighborhood which was ideal.

It was intimate in the best way. The staff were welcoming and always there when we wanted them. They were helpful but not intrusive. The location is a modest walk from anything you want to do. We are not the best walkers, but we could walk almost everywhere and took Uber up the hill after a later night out. Their recommendations were spot on for the rental car, restaurants and things to do. The breakfasts are quite substantial, and very good. You don’t need lunch if you have breakfast there - and it is included in the rate. The clientele were very nice and friendly, as well - but quiet at night - the best kind of neighbors. We would definitely stay there again.
The only possible thing Ths could be improved (in my humble opinion) is the pores coffee at breakfast. It is pretty weak. It may be the preference of a more traditional-based clientele, but we opted for the espresso in the lobby instead. I’m serious - that’s the only thing.

Luxurious king bed. Spacious room and bathroom with fireplace. Fantastic 3 course breakfast with coffee or juice and pastry or crossiant, then choice of yougurt with good granola or a sweet pancake or waffle item, or a delicious omlette or eggs benedict varying by day. An odd but excellent soup hour home made tomato basil at 4:30. Can skip the soup appetizer if you go out to dinner. Also a complimentary coffee and tea room always open.
No decaf in the room or coffee room coffees. No air conditioner if you were to stay in warmer weather. Not an issue in May.

We loved the great staff, the great location and the lovely spacious boutique style room. Old world charm with modern amenities. We loved the snacks at 430 everyday which created a wonderful community atmosphere. We met the loveliest people and continued our visits throughout our stay. Appreciated being able to bring our own glass of wine for some social time. Breakfasts were delicious and the staff so attentive! Everyone there exuded joy and kindness. They seemed genuinely happy to be at work.
Nothing, highly recommend! And we will be back.
