The location is excellent! It was easy to get to the Inner Harbor, which was our destination. The location is next to Beaconsfield Park, a regional museum and residential buildings so it didn’t feel like we were in the middle of the city-this location also meant that it was much quieter and cooler than the urban area just 3-4 blocks to the north (I stayed in the Strathcona for an additional night). The suite had a balcony/sliding door and the bedroom had a window-we kept both open so didn’t have to use (and hear) the AC.

The couch in the living room is not comfortable to sleep on, as the design results in a big gap in the cushions/bed in the middle. Staying on one side or the other of that gap is the only somewhat comfortable option. The couch cushions are also not as comfortable as they could/should be.

We have had a great stay at Helm's Inn in the heart of Victoria. Our room seemed recently renovated and had a small kitchen with all the appliances for cooking in case we wanted to take a break from dining out. The hotel is within walking distance from all the good things - shopping strips, fisherman's village, Chinatown, oceanfront, grocery stores and restaurants. On the check-out day, our flight was at 8pm-ish and the lovely reception staff kindly stored our luggage for free and welcomed us to the hang out in the lobby with tea/coffee/fruit as long as we wanted while we waited for our ride.

The hotel is located at a busy intersection so some street noise was expected. But our room was also right next to the front door (in the Mount Royal building) so we could hear it slamming all day and all night long as other guests arrived and departed.

Loved having a full kitchen. Being a vegan it isn't always easy to find whole food plant-based meals in restaurants. On several occasions I shopped at a local market and cooked a healthy meal for myself, which was great. The room itself was huge. I did have a problem with the TV but one of the staff came to my room immediately after I called & realized that the modem had been turned off, which fixed it immediately. The only downside to the hotel is that there is no elevator. Not a problem for me even though my room was on the 3rd floor. Just a heads up for others. Very close to everything downtown. Easy walk to wherever you want to visit (wharf, Chinatown, etc.)

My shower curtain had mold or mildew on the bottom of it. Other than that the room was very clean.

Helms Inn is situated at the top end of Victoria with easy walking distance to everything. The staff are extremely welcoming and very helpful. The apartment was equipped with everything in it to make your stay comfortable and well appointed. The beds were very comfortable and the bathroom large and well set out. After figuring out how to use the shower all was well! Water was nice and hot and the pressure was great. Helms Inn has a visitors laundry so if you are travelling for any length of time as we were, this is a wonderful added extra. The staff stored our luggage after checkout to allow us to see and do that bit extra until our ferry left. Extremely happy with all Helms Inn offered and would certainly rebook if I was over that way again. Value for money plus!

Excellent location! We parked the car once we arrived and was able to walk everywhere during our stay. The kitchenette was very well stocked and had everything we would have needed. The staff were also very responsive and polite. We had issues with the water in the kitchen sink and the staff were quick to send a plumber to diagnose the issue. Unfortunately it did take another day to fix as they needed to get a part. During our checkout, the front desk automatically gave us a discount on our stay due to the inconvenience. It was very much appreciated and I can recommend this as a great place to stay.

None. Except it is an older building so there are no elevators.

We were given a lovely quiet room away from the road on the 2nd floor. There was no lift but that was not an issue. Parking was on site although chargeable at $10.50 a day ( as per website). The kitchen was fully equipped , with crockery , cutlery , microwave , fridge freezer and a full cooker. The cleaning service was good with clean tea towels provided daily. Loved the position of the hotel , opposite the park and walking distance from Victoria city.

The mosquito net had been cut to give access to open the window, we preferred to open the window than use the efficient but noisy air conditioning.

We came on our bikes from the Schwartz Bay ferry terminal, and we appreciated the bike lock up room at the hotel. The location was perfect - close enough to walk to restaurants in the evening, and convenient for cycling. Our room was very large and comfortable with a king size bed, a table and chairs as well as two lounge chairs. It had a kitchen, which we didn't use too much, but I enjoyed being able to make a cup of tea.

We would have liked a slightly earlier check-in time - 4:00 seems quite late. But we were given tickets for the HOHO bus that someone was not able to use, and that was a lovely way to spend the time.

This is a lovely small hotel in the center of Victoria, just a 2-minute walk from the Royal BC Museum, a 5-minute walk from downtown, and a few minutes from the beautiful Beacon Hill Park. We were a bit concerned that the hotel might be noisy due to its location, but it's not the case at all. The hotel is very quiet, surrounded by lots of greenery, has its own convenient parking, and a very friendly staff. If you forget your umbrella, they will offer you one of the hotel's, and there is a small library in the hotel if you forget your book. There is no breakfast at the hotel, but coffee and tea are available. Our room also had a kitchen with a refrigerator, which was very convenient. We really enjoyed our stay at the hotel, and the price-quality ratio is excellent.

The staff, location and room are all wonderful. It is about 15 mins walk from the hotel to the harbor and 5 mins walk to the bus depot. The Royal BC Museum and Archives is about 2 blocks away. And the Miniature World is like 10 mins walk. Lots of shops and restaurants around the hotel. It is a little away to Chinatown but walkable. The room is clean, spacious and quiet. You can also leave your luggages with the front desk after checkout.

Minor - even though there is a safe but couldn't open the lock door.

This was the perfect location to explore the city on foot- 1 minute from Beacon Hill Park -2 minutes to Royal B.C. Museum- 10 minutes to Emily Carr House-20 minutes to Chinatown. Bus stops nearby as well as several great dining spots, a market and several bakeries. Property is immaculate-the cleaning staff are great. Front desk staff pleasant, helpful and friendly. We were extremely satisfied with every aspect of our week's stay and can see why they have a lot of repeat customers.

Perfectly satisfied with everything.
