the location of this hotel was great! It is located in the heart of the downtown area and great for walking everywhere. The Inn it self is located across the street from the park & the government center. Could NOT ask for a better hotel
liked it all

The rooms were larger than expected. We enjoyed the small kitchen area with table. Ample closet space. Comfortable beds. Our kids' double room had a larger bathroom which was helpful. The location of the hotel is excellent. We were able to walk everywhere we wanted to go.
The parking was tricky. We had 2 rooms but only 1 vehicle and we still had trouble finding a spot most days. Our king room had a very tight bathroom. We got used to it but there's no space to store anything in there. There could be more complimentary items in the front desk area (more tea options, packets of hot chocolate, real milk/cream for tea/coffee). The vending machines were handy but getting a hot drink in the evening would be nice.

The location of the property is very good; it is close enough to all things without being in the middle of the hustle and bustle. The room was lovely and comfortable. There was a mini kitchen and it was fully stocked with dishes and microwave and coffee machine. The bed was really comfortable, as was the fold-out couch. I slept on both. The decor is wonderful and there is restricted access for safety. The staff were really nice and quick with check-in. They were just as nice with check-out. We were able to check in two hours early, as our room was ready. I will definitely stay at Helm's Inn again!

Helms Inn is located behind the BC Museum on a tree lined street. The area is quiet but close to the primary streets. It has three separated buildings that make up the hotel. There is plenty of parking (we didn't drive there). The room was modern, clean and had everything one might need. There was a kitchen well stocked with cooking items and appliances. The room wasn't huge, but it was cozy. We plan on staying there every time we travel to Victoria. Just for perspective, the Hotel Grand Pacific used to be our go to hotel in Victoria.
The only thing that could have made our stay better would be if the room was free.

The kitchen was a full kitchen. The location was amazing - central in Victoria and very safe area.
The beds were jammed together and the two doubles were the smallest doubles we had ever seen. The pull out couch was a lovely couch, but it just folded down with a kick up piece to extend it and was quite uncomfortable. The price was ($430 for a night) not as steep as many places but still quite expensive. The toilet was not properly flushing, but there was no maintenance staff available by the time of our arrival, so it remained broken for our one night stay. The front desk was hard to reach because it appears they were the only staff available. The front desk person was very kind and very diligent, but there was too much for them to do alone. The place was understaffed.

I’ve stayed once with my husband before and I liked the location, although it was little noisy during the summer time but understandable(I’m from a quiet town). So I chose this place again to spend a night alone before the important exam and it was very quiet, well organized, clean room(better than last time) and great location for everything. Very nice staffs as well. I had a good sleep and then next morning wrote an exam then I passed it with a good result. Thanks! Plus, I asked for extra hours parking after check out and they said no problem at all with no extra fee. Great service.

We like making our own breakfast in the kitchen in our suite so can't rate the one provided by the hotel. We liked that when the first room didn't meet our expectations because of noise and construction dust, we were kindly upgraded to a room that was away from the construction noise and dust.
Well, we had requested an early checking because we had a long drive and needed a rest, but when we arrived there was no room ready and then it turned out to be a noisy one and close to the construction mess.

The location is excellent as we walked into downtown Victoria every day. The King Suite was very roomy, a separate bedroom large king bed well stocked kitchen large fridge two large screen TVs room was air conditioned with lots of windows for light. We were in a separate building from the main building which had a sliding front door. The building & room needed a card to access - very safe place. Parking lot was small but very safe.
Our room faced onto Superior Street which was very noisy at times - no breakfast was offered even though this was the most expensive of three hotels that we had stayed in James Bay.

The junior 1bedroom with a kitchenette & bathroom was very clean and huge. The property was clean, modern, and homey all the same time.
A few drawbacks but nothing that would prevent me from staying there again: The bathroom which was tiny. If you had the door closed and you were sitting on the toilet, if someone tried to go in, you would get banged when the door open. Also there isn't an elevator and although they have a ramp, if someone is not able to push their luggage up the steep ramp, they will have a problem.

The sheets were very clean, crisp and comfortable. The whole apartment was spotless. Even though we were on the third floor, there was a ramp up to the second floor so we only had to climb one flight of stairs. The hotel is close to Beacon Hill Park and close to the waterfront. The premises were secure and well maintained.
It was not a pleasant surprise to have to pay for parking at the hotel. At first, I was concerned that we were on the third floor, but a ramp to the second floor made it easier to access since there are no elevators and I just had a knee replacement.
