January 2025

We both slept great, room was quiet except a sometimes rattling fridge, every so often. My wife had earplugs and didn't hear it, I did. The experience was good. Rooms are like Motel rooms, nothing special but exactly what we needed and expected. The neighbourhood has its - drug related - reputation but we did not notice any of it. We drove to the city centre, left our car behind on city parking lot for $15/24hrs. Came back with Taxi to Motel and walked 45 minutes the next morning to go get our car. All good

One Asian lady at the front desk I met when I inquired about our breakfast, no smile, no 'good morning'. 9:15am. Breakfast was going to be dropped off at our room at 9am. The young man who booked us in was very friendly however. A smile makes all the difference in business and life.

I stayed for 2 nights in September 2024, having one full day to explore the city. The E-bike thing is super cool - they let you take the bike for 3 hours, and if they aren't overbooked you can extend it up to 10 hours(!) for free (like I did, 9am-7pm) by phone. The E-bike had good range and were in good shape. They add a lock and helmet. Although the motel is not in the middle of the city, it is located within 2 minutes ride (along bike lane), that connects you with a major bike road. You are 10-15 minutes ride from city center. Bike are a great way to get to know the city, due to the large number of bike lanes. I really enjoyed it. Rather than the whole E-bike thing, rooms were big and comfortable, they have parking, and breakfast was nice.

Very clean room, spotless bathroom. Absolutely comfortable beds and pillows. The linens are super fresh and smell good. WiFi works good and speed. Room is quite, we slept well. Enough parking lots. Not super close to the most popular places in Victoria, you should to use vehicle for more comfortable visiting. But absolutely perfect with facility, cleaning, comfort and abbility to sleep well. Highly recomend this motel.

Little poor breakfast. For people who don't eat sugar nothing to eat exept boiled eggs. Will be great to have some cucumber.

Upon arriving at Robin Hood Inn, it reminded me of inns I'd stayed at in the US, and it appeared quaint. Once we entered our room, we encountered the cleanest room I think I've ever stayed in, quite modern and well appointed. The decor was lovely, the option to use a kitchenette was great, had we been staying for a longer time. There were slippers provided, which was a lovely additional touch to the experience. The washroom was spotless, even the baseboards and corners were clean - one of my girls even commented on that! The bed and pillows were very comfortable as well. The lounge/games room was open til 10pm, and while we didn't use the room, it's a great option if kids want to play games or play pool.

There wasn't much to dislike. The breakfast was pleasant, but I would have liked a couple of less sweet and gluten free options, but overall very nice.

This is an amazing place to stay! You can even rent electric bikes or kayaks! We were thrilled to have the chance to explore Victoria by electric bike, thanks to this fantastic accommodation! This is an amazing perk! Victoria has so many gorgeous bike paths, and the electric drive makes it a breeze to explore them without getting too tired. Another fantastic perk was the free kayak rental, which we couldn't resist!

Breakfast could have been much more extensive, at least hard boiled eggs were available on request.

Very nice room with good beds and beautiful bathroom and shower and lots of space. Breakfast was good and the hotel is a good location for us as we were near the galloping goose bike trail which we used for three days. Also near some restaurants, including the fun GLO restaurant.

The first room we were first offered, had a weird smell to it. The staff person was efficient, butnot particularly friendly. Regarding location, we would probably try for something a little closer to town.

I loved the genuine retro style of the building, which contains all the modern comforts. The bed was THE most comfortable I've ever slept in, and I normally struggle to sleep in hotels. The shower was fabulous, the deck outside my room was very spacious and a great place to enjoy an early morning coffee in the sunshine. A special mention must go to the gorgeous rare sequoia tree with protected status, right outside of the main door. The owner and all staff were 110% helpful and kind. All this and they picked me up from the airport in their FREE shuttle service!! A bus to downtown Victoria would have added another hour to my already long journey, and the high cost of taking a taxi means that the value for money is fabulous! I hate to rave on, but there's free access to bikes, canoes and so much more. Top marks to Robin Hood Hotel + Suites for this hidden gem.

For me there were no negatives. However, it's important to point out that there are stairs to upper level rooms - anyone who doesn't manage stairs can request a ground floor room.

The front desk staff was amazing. Large rooms with beautifully renovated bathrooms (shower murals are unique). Clean. Comfortable beds. Free breakfast. Could have booked bikes or paddle boards if more time. Pictures of hotel when new are a nod to its past.

As others have pointed out, the smell. My kids said it smelled like the cabin. Should improve once carpets replaced. Hotel is in the middle of renos so there is a huge mismatch between the decor styles and which parts of hotel have been updated.

E-bikes were available for our complementary use. Although the property has been in existence since the dinosaurs died off, it has been upgraded and does not have that worn out look that older motels have. The included continental breakfast has a very good selection of fresh pastries, yogurts, juices and fruit. The staff have been trained well. They are very courteous, helpful, and they go about their duties with a happy hustle. I noticed a supervisor showing how she wanted food items laid out in the breakfast room to one of the kitchen staff: she was very explicit and the best thing to me was that the super showed respect to the employee.

A note on the e-bikes: we had a smaller red Norco and a Trek. The Norco’s chain is in serious need of of oil as it is dry and it squeaks like crazy, and the headlight does not work. The Trek’s chain skips on the cogs when you apply pressure to go up a hill when the e-bike is in the “off” or “normal” positions. It’s chain needs oil as well. (An oiled chain lasts longer)

The room was clean and bed and bathroom were recently updated. The bed was very comfortable with a good selection of pillows. The shower was nice lots of room and the water pressure was good. Loved the great room and the complementary bikes. The all day juice and hot beverage machine was fantastic. :)

The breakfast was great but it would have been nice to reduce the pastries and add bread or bagel and granola for the yogurt. Not enough receptacles in the room for CPAP machine and computers or cell phone chargers.
