My family and I had a wonderful stay. Clean, comfortable, well-located. Everything we could ask for in a hotel. We enjoyed their restaurant as well and ate there probably most of the time- when we were not snacking on hikes. It is difficult to assess places to stay without being at the location in the moment, but having stayed there, I think we definitely made the right choice. We came by bus/train, but they do have parking options. The front desk was also kind enough to hold our backpacks for us as we arrived before check-in and departed after checkout. Thank you!

That we did not plan for a longer stay!

We had an excellent room with a view of the castle, comfortable for our family of three. The breakfast was great with lots of choices and espresso. Parking was right across the street and monitored for $10 a day. Dinner was good, but the cheesy spätzle with onions was my favorite thing ever! I could have eaten a plate of it! Easy (but arduous) walk up to the castle.

There were minimal shelves or hooks in the bathroom for hygiene items. Otherwise everything was great.

The room's balcony and view were very good. When you opened the balcony door in the early morning hours, the foggy view over the lake was fascinating. The hotel staff was very friendly and helpful. The hotel is very close to Neuschweinstein Castle and the lake, and you can easily reach it on foot. Breakfast range was wide. There was also a very large smoking area at the back of the hotel. Unfortunately, I did not have the opportunity to try the hotel's food, but I have no doubt that the food is as good as the hotel itself.

t would be very useful if mosquito nets can be installed on the balcony door and window. Otherwise, mosquitoes and other insect species can enter every time we open the balcony door or window.

The view was absolutely amazing (despite a tree needing a slight trim 🤣). We stayed in one of the romantic rooms that had a special view of the castle and mountain ranges. We were only there for one night but we enjoyed sitting on the balcony and taking in the view. The room was a decent size and was nice and clean. The hotel staff were very responsive when we booked and they were able to help us with securing a room upgrade. We dined in the beer garden and at the restaurant - the food was delicious as was the Hugo Spritz. We enjoyed the opportunity to walk around the town once the majority of tourists had headed off- if only we could've stayed for a few more days. If you are looking for a romantic getaway with a loved one we would highly recommend

The one tip we would advise is around ensuring you book your tickets to the castles ahead of time, as despite the ticket office being extremely close to the hotel they sell out very quickly and you do not want to miss out on your chance to visit the castles.

The location can not be beat! They had a fan for the room since they did not have air conditioning. We liked the balcony off of our room. Breakfast was very good.

Even though we knew there wasn't an elevator or air conditioning, it would have been nice to have someone help with the luggage. We are little bit older and would have appreciated it. Also, they did have a fan, but it was not very strong. A bigger and stronger fan would be very helpful.

The hotel is nice and has everything you need right there such as restaurant, snack bar, souvenir shop and it’s right next door to the ticket centre for the castles. Staff were friendly and the food at the restaurant was great.

We had a lot of luggage as we are on an extended trip but we were offered no assistance with it so I had to make 3 trips up and down 2 flights of stairs to get all of my families luggage up to the room. A little help would have gone a long way. Breakfast goes until 10:00 but they don’t seem to put anything fresh out after 9:00 so if you want fresh eggs and sausages etc you need to be down there by 08:30 atleast.

Very nice hotel and rooms. The location is great, right near the ticket center for the castle. The hotel has a very large terrace to enjoy a cold beer, an indoor restaurant and a souvenir shop. The room has a big and confortable bed, a closet, tv and a very nice balcony with chairs and table to admire the beautiful surroundings. Parking available for guests.

Although the breakfast is very rich and varied, I tasted a creamy cheese with some spices and I felt bad for two days. I cannot firmly say that it is because of the quality of the cheese, but I felt a strange taste while eating and I'm quite sure it was the cause of my illness.

Nice and comfortable setting, newly renovated facilities, friendly staff members(professional services. A male staff at check-in was really nice.) and super clean room! Also castle view was plus!! Restaurant foods were amazing!!! This was the very first time we ever ate great German foods. (Luca was our server. I wish I remember everybody’s name but ladies at breakfast time were also nice and helpful.) Thank you all of staff members at Alpenstuben. I will come back if I have a chance again!

It ended up no problem throughout night while sleeping, but heater took a while to heat up room.

Excellent hotel in Hohenschwangau, within walking distance of both castles. Our room was spacious, had comfortable beds, and a nice view of Neuschwanstein Castle. The buffet breakfast was really good and was included in the price of the room. The hotel also had a restaurant where it was possible to have dinner after spending the day visiting the sights or hiking in the area.

The lack of air conditioning, although a fan was provided to cope with the heat. Also, the car park could be cheaper.

Unbelievable little hotel, unbelievable location, unbelievable price. We got the last room available online and were upgraded when we arrived. The room was so charming and large with multiple windows. View of the castle. Very clean and comfortable. Very romantic setting. Restaurant was so delicious and the manager on duty was very kind and friendly, giving great information and advice for our stay. Parking was right across the street and very inexpensive. Can't believe we got a room here!

Absolutely nothing. I can't wait to return someday.
