I.didnt expect a double bed! All of the beds were double beds which was great and you had you own little cubby hole to sleep in. The bed and pillows were extremely comfy and the facilities were very clean. I can't imagine staying there in the summer though with no Aircon.. the room was just bearable in November and it was 24°C

The rooms need more ventilation and aircon

Exceptionally kind, polite and helpful staff who would go to the moon and back to help you and patiently answer all your queries. Convenient location near the station and the high street, comfortable, warm, and clean dorm/room. Fully equipped kitchen and the star attraction is the heater at the reception which should be declared a tourist attraction esp. during the cold winter. PS: On my way back at the Hakone Yumoto station, I was interviewed by a Japanese TV channel. They asked me about my trip to Japan and the experience in Hakone, I have given a shout out to your lovely staff and hostel. Now, if you become world famous, then I am coming back to collect my royalties. :p :)

Azito staff is very friendly and has a discount for nearby onsen. AZITO's recommendation for onsen and food is very good, the room is clean and has privacy that we need.

There were mosquitos as we went in summer.

Great thing about this hostel is that you get a "box". Basically a wooden constructed tiny room inside the actual bigger room of the building. This means that you can put all your stuff and luggage inside your box, and despite the fact you cannot stand upright in your box, you do enjoy the privacy and the wider/larger queen bed that is there. The bar also serves few great food items (including vegetarian noodles dish :-)) which is a huge plus when you get back at night and all the "other places" are closed or too far to get to..... Also a close 10-20 min walk from some of the best Onsen's I have visited during my time in Japan. Basic in nature, but awesome. I really enjoyed my time there and will return when I am next in Hakone.

The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful! We stayed in a traditional triple room with three futon beds, which was clean, comfortable and as expected. We really enjoyed the laid back atmosphere, excellent service, and dinner and drinks in the small bar area. Best gyoza we’ve ever had! Thank you for having us.

Nothing. If we had to be super picky the room would benefit from some additional curtains - a couple of the windows had no curtains and there was a little more light in the room early in the morning than my husband would have preferred.

I stayed in a full bed in a capsule room on a mixed-gender floor, for two nights. The guesthouse was easily accessible (10 to 15 minute walk to Hakone-Yumoto station). I appreciated that, when I checked in, the front desk gave me a little map of the area that had recommended onsens and restaurants. The capsule room was nice and spacious (compared to a lot of the twin bed capsule rooms in Japan), and even though there wasn't storage/locked space in there, the locker room was nearby and easily accessible. The room itself also had a lock from the inside, which helped with feeling more secure at night! Also, the guesthouse provides a discount to a nearby onsen (I didn't use it, but I went to another larger onsen nearby). It also has a bar and you can order food until around 9pm (a lot of nearby restaurants close early).

There were only a few minor things that people might want to know: the toilet rooms did not have much audio privacy (i.e. when you are standing outside brushing your teeth at the sink, you can hear people using the toilets), and unlike most places I've stayed at, the toilet didn't have a bidet! Also, my locker was quite high up and required a little ladder to access (may be tough for people with suitcases). Keep in mind that a bath towel rental requires a small fee (100 Yen) but that (2) smaller towels are provided for free.

Very friendly and informative staff. Communal area was nice with very reasonably priced bar (500 yen for beer, glass of wine etc). Also serving some simple food till 2130.

The rooms have a low ceiling (essentially a capsule) where you can't really stand once you are inside. Another thing was that although there are beddings, the hostel asks you to sleep between the two sheets that they provide. Which made me wonder if the actual beddings were changed after each guests' stay...

The staff answered my various questions and tried to find solutions to suit my demands considering our language barrier. The lockers to fit my various luggages were huge and adapted to backpack travelers. The facilities were clean and confortable to use. I found the room and the capsules structure unusual but it was efficient and lovely to stay in and the staff's recommendation to be quiet in the sleeping area made the stay more pleasant. Also, the kitchen and communal room made it easier to talk to other travelers and enjoy the night around a jenga game.

If I need to be peaky, I'll say the size of the towel provided but that's not of a big deal.

I loved my stay here so much!! The staff were super friendly and helpful and Hakone is such a beautiful area to explore. The hostel itself is super cosy with a bar for socialising, which is super helpful as a lone traveller - the food they make is also delicious and super cheap, plus a good range of traditional japanese alcohol options. The beds here are probably the comfiest and most spacious so far - maybe too cosy as the pod itself is very dark and I kept sleeping for too long, haha. I'd totally recommend it here, it's probably the best part of my stay so far.

Beds/pod set up is really good. Very cozy, comfy and felt like a luxury (but without the price-tag) after staying in single bunks in other hostels. Double mattress was very comfortable and slept well. Also had good luggage storage that enables you to lock away full size suitcase + extras.

Wooden pods/bed spaces has ventilation system that draws air from outside (if switched on) and on occasion my area did smell of cigarettes so had to turn this off. Kitchen area a little limited for somewhere that doesn’t do breakfast- Could also do with more cutlery.
