I stayed at the Deluxe Twin Room with my significant other for a one-night stay and we LOVED it! We were a bit skeptical at first because of the average reviews, but we were so surprised. This place deserves 5/5 stars~! We were immediately met with such lovely hospitality from the staff, and although not all of them spoke English, they tried their best and it was definitely manageable for English-speaking travelers. Both the dinner and breakfast Japanese-styled meals were wonderfully crafted and delicious. Our room, private bathroom, and private outdoor bath were very clean. I can't say more about the outdoor bath, it was so relaxing, and it felt like all of the stress of traveling seeped out of my body. Staying at this ryokan was one of my top experiences while visiting Japan, and I can't wait to be back!

As many reviews have said, the WiFi isn't great, however, if you have a WiFi block, then you'll be fine! It was also a wonderful way to disconnect from society for a day.

The facility is old but that is part of the charm. The dinner and breakfast are very delicious. It's great to have a private onsen. Room is spacious and the staffs are very friendly and helpful.

Fantastic hospitality, incredible kaiseki meals (we had breakfast and dinners). It's a small traditional Ryokan with 8 guest rooms, so the room only has a toilet and sink. To shower and bathe you use the traditional Japanese bath area, one for men and the other for women. A memorable experience. Room for improvement: the futon style mattress is VERY firm. And some interior finishes such as the wallpaper and tatami mat edges would benefit from replacement. But this is a historical Ryokan building so don't expect everything to be new and modern. The fantastic hospitality and meals are the most important thing if you stay here. Two people in our group had tattoos, it was not a problem using the hotel's communal bath. Also this Ryokan is located near the Tenzan Onsen. The Ryokan is a 15-20 minute walk to Hakone-Yumoto train station. Also is near bus line "K" which goes to the lake.

Room for improvement: the futon style mattress is VERY firm. And some interior finishes such as the wallpaper and tatami mat edges would benefit from replacement.

The property was very traditional Japanese feels. It did seem a bit on the older side (no smart TVs, only takes cash but lovely. The staff was amazing and sweet. We spoke very little Japanese and they spoke some English and used translator apps otherwise. The food was delish, different than we’re used to as Americans, but still good, you could tell it was quality. The private onsen was amazing, we felt so relaxed after the bath, it was outdoor and was raining but the bath was covered and the rain provided a nice ambience, I couldn’t even tell it was cold when getting out of the bath. The futons were a bit hard and uncomfortable. Absolutely recommend to travelers!! It was such a great experience.

Just a bit dated, no smart TVs, basic Japanese cable, lock and keys, no key card, hard futons.

The staff were outstanding, the limited English did nothing to limit their excellent and attentive service. Everyone was incredibly kind and courteous. We travelled with our 9 month old son and they did everything in their power to make us feel comfortable and happy. They played with him, they gave us extra bins for his nappies, everything was amazing. The food service was also incredible. Outstanding traditional Japanese private breakfast and dinner - again they set up our sons pram in the room so he could sit with us and kept him entertained when we needed to eat. We had a room with a private onsen and it was everything we wanted. Very clean, a great space with traditional setup and our own kimonos which was so fun! We had an amazing stay and couldn't recommend it highly enough.

Nothing.

This Ryokan is everything you hope for in a traditional Japanese inn. The staff was very friendly, the room was picture perfect, and the food was so delicious! We had a room with a private onsen which we appreciated. But after taking a look at the larger onsen available for everyone that was a great option too. All the onsens were neat and tidy with a great atmosphere.

Family owned business and it was our first time staying at a Ryokan. Although it may appear small outside, everything inside from staff to onsen, food and room was exceptional. This place exceeded our expectations and I would highly recommend this place to anyone after the full Japan experience with yukaka's included! P.S - The lady and staff that served us spoke little english but google translate helped and the overall experience was fun! Sleeping to the river stream running outside our room was soooo relaxing.

The lady that took care of us does not speak English and we didn't speak a word of Japanese, however, she was patient enough to try to explain herself. She even used the translator from her phone.

The cold weather hehe.

The staff was very friendly and helpful despite our huge luggage. The bath was enjoyable and the futon comfortable. The yukata were beautiful. If you are on a budget, it is a good place to have a ryokan experience. 本当に ありがとう ございます
