The mercure is what you expect in a 4 star hotel, with the addition of a jaw dropping view. We felt very comfortable and safe during our stay. The location is just outside the main bit of town. It's a pleasant 10-15 min walk downhill to town with stunning views, and easy $10 or less uber trip back up the hill. The location of the hotel is a plus however - jaw dropping views of the remarkables and lake without being too remote. The room itself was clean and neat - the beds are moderately comfortable for a hotel bed but nothing to write home about. The staff are very friendly and helpful. The buffest breakfast is a healthy price and quite yummy. We would definitely book the mercure again as it is good value for money, comfy, close to town and stunning view.
Some touches remind you this is 4 star and not 5 star, but you are not paying the 5 star price in queenstown (so, fair enough). For example, the lifts are verryyyy old and can spook you at times with their jerkiness/squeaks haha. The bathroom in the room is very simple, with a small space and low water pressure shower, and not many amenities like bath robes, slippers etc. Also note the rooms are not the most sound proof we've seen. You can hear people in the hallway and the hum of the elevator generator. But nothing that stops you from sleeping.

absolutely stunning views quick and easy to get into town , reception staff at check in and out were super friendly and helpful
our toilet had a consistent flushing every 2-3 minutes all day all night the hose in our shower sprayed more water on the wall than through the shower head clear seal in bottom of shower was yellow with dirt. nothing except for towel got topped up. ( tea, shower hat ) only 1 for 4 people ) some breakfast staff seemed not to enjoy themselves and came across rude evenothough I’m sure they didn’t mean it. breakfast buffet was fine but very basic for that kinda start rating.

The hotel is located a few minutes by car from the center so it is quiet. It offers great views of the lake and mountains. I ordered a coffee at the bar; the bartender was efficient and very polite.
The room was clean but there was a few litters in the corridors from time to time. The swimming pool has no view on the lake and jacuzzis are small and dirty. The hotel tried to allocate me a room just in front of the lift while I requested (when booking) a quiet room; but I managed to obtain a quiet one after complaining. The hotel also took a $10 deposit on my credit card (that I got back once checking out) since I borrowed a plug adapter; I thought it was over-protective and unjustified to borrow an old adapter.

It was clean, lovely view of the lake and the bar area also very nice.
Breakfast could be better, both in what they offer (at least a proper coffee too) and how it is serviced. Know it was busy and the staff did their best but we did have to wait for food to come to the buffet (not helped by other guests piling multiple plates of food at once though)..... Location is ok if you have a car but they do now charge a parking fee which is a bit excesive especially since they are not in the town but a good walkable distance away including the uphill slog back.

The photos don’t do this place justice! It’s a lot nicer in real life. Everything was spotless and clean! Very impressed! You get your moneys worth staying here, staff were exceptional, we were upgraded upon arrival to a lake view room which had stunning views. Very quiet room, no noise disturbance throughout our entire stay (4days). Facilities were great, sauna was lovely, pool area always kept clean and tidy, spa gets cleaned twice a day which is great. Kids enjoyed the pizza we ordered from the bar. Coffee was great! So impressed by this resort I would definitely recommend staying here especially families. All the staff we came across were so friendly and eager to help and made sure we were comfortable and happy with everything. Location is close to the city centre, walkable distance however we did Uber back as hill was quite steep, Ubers will cost you no more than $13 one way to city centre. $45 to the airport.
Couldn’t fault it. Loved this resort and will be returning next time

The room was clean and comfortable. Bathroom clean towels plentiful. Didn't like how my requests weren't meant and had to ask a second time for soap in shower to be refilled extra rolls of toilet paper to be left in bathroom. Also, having only one comfy chair in room was a problem as there were 2 of us staying. Don't like to sit on bed. .

I loved everything about the place was very clean and stylish, room was big and nicely laid out. The staff were kind , helpfull , amazing and made up a nice plate with happy anniversary written in chocolate with some treats on it after they found out it was our honeymoon and the breakfast was amazing with so many options . Also had alot of facilities there which we didnt use but great to have the option
Didn't like the food on the menu at the restaurant so didn't go down there but the food from the room service was absolutely amazing and well presented

We recently stayed at the Mercure Resort with our family, and it was an experience to cherish! Although the resort is a bit away from town, the picturesque and serene location up the hill more than makes up for it. The breathtaking views and tranquil atmosphere provided the perfect escape from the hustle and bustle of daily life. The resort itself is beautifully maintained, offering a wonderful blend of comfort and nature. The staff were incredibly friendly and accommodating, making our stay even more enjoyable. Room was clean, and well-equipped with all the amenities we needed.

During the day of the booking, Mercure Queenstown had one of the lowest prices compared to other accommodations. The staff was friendly throughout the whole check-in and check-out process. I want to thank one of the front office staff, Libin, that allowed me to use the drying machine at 11PM, although hotel rules state that the laundry room was closed. I am also delighted with the plentiful car park spaces at the hotel.
I would like to suggest adding a plastic bag for the trash bin inside the room.

The room was spacious and very comfortable. The view was amazing. The location was good, but being just out of the main township and up a steep hill - guests should bear this in mind. There were plenty of options and choices in the buffet breakfast and the food was very nice.
The only disappointment we had was that the bar area and casual dining (bar food) was very busy and we weren't able to utilise it. On each of our nights at the hotel, we found it necessary to go out for our evening meal.
