I mentioned on my booking request it was for an anniversary and arrived to find the room containing a love lettered balloon on the wall, anniversary banner, nice written message on the mirror and a card with some haribo and free drinks voucher and faux rose petals. It was unexpected but so nice. Location is great and breakfast is great and also you can get free coffees anytime from the machines. Any staff we spoke to were nice and the place was well kept. Would definitely recommend and go back.

There was no conditioner provided, only shampoo. The variety on their menu is quite poor, hence we never ate there apart from breakfast but that's about it.

Lots of good stuff such as great coffees & teas free of charge at any time, our choice of good-quality magazines (also free of charge), always someone available to help and the hotel's location is ideal. Very informal and easygoing. Also very clean. Welcoming.

Breakfast calls for one of you to always remain at your table - otherwise they clear away your hot drinks and your juice while you're away getting your bacon & eggs! This is not only wasteful and inconvenient but also means getting and eating breakfast becomes somewhat drawn-out.

Location. Quiet, hardly any noise from traffic. Clean comfortable bed, love the pillow options. Tea/coffee facilities in room. Dove products in bathroom was a winner. Soft towels, great shower. A great asset was that if you had forgotten an essential toiletry item e.g toothbrush, razor etc… the hotel supplies them free of charge. Free magazines available at breakfast. A good choice of hot/cold breakfast too.

More staff needed in the bar area. Some tables were dirty which wasn’t nice when having a drink in the evening. We asked if hot food was available later in the evening after our night out. We were reassured that pizza was available until 4am. We returned just before midnight to be told there was no pizza. The only thing available was crisps and chocolate, which was disappointing. This isn’t the first time this has happened to us, the last stay at a Holiday Inn in London a few weeks ago, food was promised for the later evening and again none were available when we returned from our night out; which was well before midnight. For a hotel of this size, having room service, or bar service offering sandwiches or pizza is what I would expect.

Very reasonably priced, good central location. All staff were excellent. Check in easy, friendly and professional.

Clean but tired accommodation, carpet stains etc. But for the price, acceptable. Excited to have a view on the 15th floor but directly opposite glass walled offices so had to keep the curtains shut for privacy... no city view anyway.

The room was clean. The beds were comfy. Wonderful shower and toiletries, Dove products, were lovely.

After long journey we didn't want to go out to eat. Decided to order from the bar menu. Restricted choices. Very simple menu, only a few items on offer. Food was not good. Items missing, food cold, presented to our table in an awful manner by a female member of staff. Waited for the side orders to arrive, but they never materialised. Husband had to go up to ask for them, twice, to no avail. The already lukewarm main course subsequently went cold. Managed to get a refund for the terrible food. Maybe the company shouldn't bother offering food. I do not recommend purchasing anything to eat.

Overall, it was a much better experience than staying at other hotels previously. I didn´t realise that it would be Ladies Day while we were staying there. At breakfast, we were given lovely tulip buds, which stayed fresh, and when we arrived back to our room in the evening, we found an ice bucket containing two miniature bottles of Prosecco along with Kit Kats. Very much appreciated and most enjoyable! A lovely touch.

The room was very good except it could be stuffy, especially while trying to sleep. We arrived back late on the Sunday evening when I found the pills I have to take on the floor between the two beds, a bottle of water poking out from the back of the bed, and I couldn´t find my pyjamas which I had left folded on the bed. Following a search, they were found on the other side of the room in the corner, on the floor behind the chair. Wouldn´t find it necessary to make a complaint about it, but it was odd, very odd!

Modern, pleasant hotel. Great location for exploring Birmingham. Staff were friendly. Beds were comfy. Room on 11th floor was quiet so we slept really well. Tasty, plentiful breakfast was served in a light-filled, airy room beside reception on the first floor. Coffee was good.

The shower wasn't 100% clean when we arrived. On day 2, housekeeping replaced the towels but only gave us one set of towels despite there being two of us booked in. No big deal – but we flagged this with reception twice (once on phone, once in person) but no towels materialised. We had to go roaming around the hotel the next morning in order to grab a set of towels from a housekeeping trolley so we could both have showers.

Very comfortable room, everything I needed. Good location for both canalside and the Bullring, train station etc. Great breakfast set up!

I was staying on my own and had asked on arrival if food was available in the evenings in the bar - there was a bar menu on the tables and at the bar, but no times of availability. I was told the food was served throughout the evenings. However, when I turned up to hopefully get a pizza or burger in the early evening I was told "sorry no food as no staff". I ended up with a packet of crisps as I didn't want to go out to a restaurant on my own. That was the only negative in a pile of positives!

The room was comfortable, shower excellent. Modern and fresh and clean. Not too hot. Good value. The breakfasts were plentiful, good quality with lots of choice. The staff were extremely helpful, cheerful and obliging and also resolved a small to problem very quickly and easily and friendliness. All the staff were happy, friendly, helpful and kind. I liked the security measures and care for anyone with disabilities. Excellent all round.

A little but tricky to find originally and a bit of a walk with a case (more so for people with walking issues) but too near to use a taxi. Only a minor issue though.

Everything was great, we had enough room for x2 adults, x1 6 y/o and a newborn (with pushchair!) even with the sofa bed pulled out. We felt safe as there are safety measures such as key access to upper floors and locks on the room doors. Breakfast was very filling, and plentiful. However it would be nice to heat up crossaints and pastries if wanted as I didn't like mine cold, but that's my smallest criticism bordering petty. It was not busy when we can down to eat which made it very comfortable and staff kept on top of cleaning tables when needed. Overall we had the best time for our overnight stay.

As explained above my only dislike was being able to heat my crossaints and pastries up, which admittedly is a minor inconvenience on a personal level.
