Lovely village location. The triple room was spacious and decorated to a very good standard. Everything we needed was included in the room. Really comfortable beds and bedding. We paid on arrival for breakfast, and it didn't disappoint. The full english set us up for the very long drive home we were all very impressed.

There is no option to order breakfast when booking the room online. So the £30 (£10 pp) additional cost comes as a bit of a surprise on arrival. I understand it's our choice but it would be good to have it as an option on the booking site. Or at least put the price and details in the description so guests are not put on the spot and know what additional costs they can expect when the check in.

The staff were exceptional and very friendly. The rooms were excellent with nice touches such as the sleep well supplies, robes, cotton wool buds and cotton balls to name but a few. There was plenty of body washes and the bed was very comfortable. Great to be able to adjust the room temperature. For £10, the full english breakfast was fabulous and cooked well and to your taste as required. Plentiful supply of coffee, toast, cereals and juices. Nice additions to the decor such as bottle lights and the bedrooms were decorated to a high standard. Good location for countryside views and walks but a bit isolated if you want more amenities close by which I didn't. The evening meal was very good and priced appropriately, it was difficult to choose what to eat. It was well presented and a lot of food envy was going on when the dishes were served. Would definately recommend this hotel and I will be returning.

The furniture in the Bar area was more functional than comfortable and we had to use this area if the lounge was being used for a party.

We were really impressed with the room. It was very large, spotlessly clean with little extras such as sleep masks and ear plugs. We particularly liked having our own little seating area so we could watch tv or read in a comfy chair around the table. It was the nicest and most comfortable room we have ever stayed in and it was nice and cosy on chilly days to turn the thermostat up for a bit. It was a lovely quiet location with very comfortable beds and we all had a great sleep. Couldn't fault the room or staff, who were incredibly friendly and helpful.

Our breakfast was a bit overcooked

Friendly pub with no frills, plentiful home cooked food. Room was excellent; particularly liked the tv seating area. Everywhere clean with pleasant staff.

Sink in bathroom difficult to use, as squeezed into a small space, though don’t think it could have been planned any better, so not a huge problem. Would have liked the evening meal eating area to have been a bit more pub like, more warm and cosy, where we would have enjoyed staying for the evening once we had finished our meal.

Very welcoming helpful staff, clean and fresh smelling on entering the building. The room was basic, in a good way. Very comfortable. The guy who did breakfast was super impressive. Polite, well organised and very efficient. The location is great for what I need.

Not the fault of the owners, but on the first nights stay, it was very noisy from the other people staying. There was no disturbing noise from the pub. There were lots of creaky floor boards and rattling doors. The second night was not as bad. Breakfast was, in my opinion, a bit expensive for what was on offer even though it tasted good.

Our room (4) was clean, comfortable and modern with little extras like eye masks, ear plugs, cotton buds/cotton wool, tissues and dressing gowns etc. We had our own thermostat to control the heating in the room. The staff were friendly. The food was tasty. There was a good selection of drinks at the bar. Everywhere was nicely decorated. There are countryside walks on the doorstep. Local amenities are a short drive away. *You can pre order your breakfast via an order form, submitted the day/night before (£10 each).

All good, thank you!

Room was big and looked newly renovated. Staff were friendly and the food was really good especially the breakfasts..The pub had its own small car park but there was plenty of parking on the road as well. Location is great for all the tourist attractions locally. Would definitely stay again but would book direct next Time.

Room could have been warmer for when we arrived and the room only had 1 bath towel for two people but both minor issues.

Lovely location - just across from the historic Saxon church. Ideal for us visitng family just over a mile away - so just a short walk. A well appointed room with plenty of tea coffee milk and a super comfy bed. Shower was lovely too with nice bathroom overall. Pity the weather was rubbish but can’t blame the B&B for that. Breakfast which we booked separately on one night out of the three. Booking was a little clunky us having to do that the night before and wanting payment up front at a late hour wasn’t perfect for us. That all said, at £10 for the best breakfast we have had for a long while. Lots of choice and enough to fill anyone up for most of the day - super VFM

Breakfast booking / payment the night before.

Everything. A very warm and friendly welcome from Bev. All of the staff are lovely. Room was a good size with very comfortable beds. Spotless throughout. You won’t be disappointed by the food. Sean prepared excellent meals. Steak and ale pie to die for, succulent chicken and perfectly cooked gammon. All served piping hot. We highly recommend the breakfast too. We would happily give more stars if we could. We are definitely going back next year.
