Everything was perfect from A-Z apart from noise while we kept the windows open and the size of the room, which didn't have enough space for our kids to walk around. Nice location, free car park, clean and tidy, game boards, big screen, smoke-free, professional, friendly, and very helpful staff. We had a great stay at YHA. I have to say a big thanks to all the team, especially the lady who brought the baby cot to our door, and the guy who introduced himself as a night shift manager was very friendly and helpful.

The noise from the train, especially at night when the kids are in deep sleep. The size of the room, which is expected to be big enough for 3 bunk beds and a baby cot.

I liked the lobby, and the facilities, too. A bathroom and only 4 beds in the room is a huge advantage. The kitchen is a bit small, but works. I was surprised that the staff were quite helpful with extra requests. Usually in hostels they say 'sorry we don't provide this', but here they actually tried to help (e.g. got some salt for the kitchen).

A bit noisy, especially in the lobby (the staff should ask people to reduce their noise level). Basic condiments (e.g. salt, pepper, oil) should be provided (as it is impossible to carry all this or buy every time you move into a new place).

The size of the room is spacious for 4- bed .The beds were clean and comfortable. The toilet is small although good enough for 4 people,l have seen worse in other hostels.A self catering kitchen is always useful.Huge lobby area .WiFi worked.

The room was hot , although a fan was provided. But the noise of the fan bothered sometime at night. Bit away from the city centre. The nearest station is the Deansgate. The canal is dirty , doesn't give a pleasant look.

1. full kitchen facilities and utensils (but without a freezer) 2. comfy bed 3. room is fairly spacious

1. lousy roommates coming back in the middle of the night and then make a lot of noise (is there any chance you include some "quiet rooms" that only allow for people who get in before 11pm or sth like that?) 2. my room is located by the river, so the chatter sounds sometimes make it hard to fall asleep 3. I saw the cleaning staff put the pillows/duvets straightly on the ground when replacing the old pillow/bed sheets, I wonder if that is sanitary? 4. check-out time is a bit early (10am 🥹)

Stayed only for one night so I didn't even see my room with the lights on because I didn't want to disturbe my roommates. I didn't use the en-suite either for the same reason, so it was great to have a bathroom and a shower on the hallway too. Good storage space in the room! Hostel met all of my expectations and needs.

My sheets had some staining on them but as it was late I made a decision not to ask for new ones. Wifi was a bit unreliable but not too bad.

The hostel is clean and not run down. The beds have USB-ports so that foreigners dont need to bring adapters to charge their phones. The hostel also has a fully equipped kitchen.

It was quite hot in the 4-bedroom that I slept in but it was in the middle of August. Also, the window had to be open for ventilation all night and there is a rail track quite close to the window. That said, there were not many trains passing and I did not wake up during the night.

The location was very handy and lovely by the canal! Lots of space and hang out areas with vending machine, bar and usable areas for food etc. Lockers and 24hr water tap also by reception which is great!

The toilet in my shared room smelt bad even though it was clean and because it was plastic, it had stained an orange colour which was off putting on top of the smell. However there was a toilet and shower in the hallway that I was able to use instead, which I was happy and thankful for, otherwise I would have felt uncomfortable using the room one. We were provided with one pillow, which was too low for me. I went to reception to ask to hire another one, but apparently they did not offer this service, which I thought was strange as they hire towels! Because of this it gave me a bad neck and I did not sleep well. I think that the option to hire an extra pillow should be available as everybody sleeps differently and has different body requirements, so something to consider!

all facilities, room, bathroom & linen were really clean, comfortable lobby, 24/7 accessible kitchen w/ fridge, stove, kettle, microwave & oven and private food storage boxes, large enough lockers in the room, 4bed female dorm available, ensuite bathroom incl. toilet & shower, super nice and helpful staff, filtered water station, convenient location

the only 2 downsides were really hot air in the room on 2nd floor although it wasn’t hot outside, so the fan was on all night, but glad the fan is available in the room; and extra fee for towel

Nice location and the outside view. Huge and nice common space to spend time with friends, eat or work. I booked bed in 4 beds room. Nice and clean room, clean linen, small but private bathroom enough for 4 people. There are hangers and drawers for storing things. I don't know if they give out locks, I had my own. There was a big kitchen with the fridge and all the things you need to cook. Liked my staying a lot. The staff is friendly and helpful.

No hairdryer, no towels. Wasn’t a big deal for me, (just for you to know).

Convenient location (easy 10 min walk from Deansgate, or to center city), fine basic room, friendly helpful staff, luggage storage available, windows that open for fresh air, very clean, nice breakfast options, self-catering kitchen. Just about everything one could want in a hostel. Was glad to have the option to book a private room, as we were getting over jet lag and wanted to be sure to have a restful night.

Seating in the lounge area didn't have good task lighting (for reading or knitting). I now travel with a headlamp for this reason.
