- quality and standard of the accommodation - self contained flat - home from home feel - cleanliness and luxuriousness - parking availability - access to various HQ TV channels, including Netflix and BBC iplayer - underfloor bathroom heating - nice showergel
- poor drainage in wash basin reported to Reception at check out - eaves on either side of lengths of accommodation which restricted freedom of movement for fear of banging your head on ceiling - power sockets mostly located under the eaves which made these virtually impossible to use due to concerns of head injury - furniture could be rearranged better (wardrobe was blocking the light coming from french doors in bedroom; mirror could be placed on bare wall - bed too low (to accommodate eaves) - bathroom located over the cafe where music could be heard, so had to close bathroom door in mornings

The Oak Tree Inn is situated in a beautiful spot by Loch Lomond. We were both in awe from the moment we arrived. We arrived way before our check-in time to allow us to make the most of our stay. We asked the receptionist where was best to park whilst we explored the area, she was incredibly helpful and even upgraded our room out of the goodness of her heart. We were made to feel welcome from the moment we arrived, advising us on where best to grab refreshments and where to explore until our check-in. Our room was stunning with complimentary refreshments, including the local ground coffee, such a wonderful personal touch. The food in their restaurant is second to none, locally sourced and prepared from scratch by their team of talented chefs. The staff are incredibly friendly, very knowledgeable of the area and nothing is too much trouble. We're already planning a return in the spring.

The Oak Tree Inn is situated in a beautiful spot in Balmaha very close to the water and to hiking trails. The staff is extremely nice and helpful and the whole Inn seems to be very well-maintained. The rooms are in converted or new-built cabins and cottages and my room featured a very nice view of Loch Lomond. Parking is right outside the apartments. The Inn has its own coffee shop with excellent coffee!
The room I stayed in was very small so that I had to leave my suitcase in the car as there wouldn't have been space to unpack or store it in the room. The food options in the restaurants are a bit too much focused on standard pub fare with hardly any fresher or lighter foods available.

The location for starters, simply amazing. Paying that we bit extra for the loch view from your room is worth it (if the weather is right!). The quality of the food on offer is that of high quality, I could get fatter than I already am with the buffet breakfast that is available. I had no need to eat from the gluten free menu, but I was told from a work colleague who has eaten there that the GF food on offer was some of the best that she had tried anywhere. The staff were pleasant, attentive and helpful.
The only thing I didn't "like" in my room was the sofa bed, used as a couch I didnt find it particularly comfortable to sit on. Oh, and there was no loo brush on offer, that was problematic as I had some bother trying to pee off the stoater of a skid mark I had left on the first night of our stay. (I don't think it's fair that I leave that for the housekeeping staff to sort out).

The whole room was lovely. We were lucky enough to get an upgrade but we weren’t aware we’d booked a low grade room in the first place!
The neighbours could see us as they sat on their outdoor grass area, so perhaps the fencing could be a little longer to hide them. We couldn’t find a shavers point. The toilet seat was very loose and coming off. No toilet brush available by the toilet and not everybody likes to leave skid marks in the looh for the cleaner! Scrambled egg was far too watery. There was too much milk in the scrambled egg. Milk was only used in scrambled egg in the war to make it go further, it should only be a tiny splash. There shouldn’t be any liquid in the scramble egg. Tell your chef to try cooking it without the milk, it is far far nicer to taste and to look at! The evening meal was top nosh! Still a lovely place!

I booked to stay at the Oak Tree Inn to celebrate my girlfriends 30th birthday for 3 nights. We received a complimentary upgrade to a room with a loch view which really made it feel more special. The accommodation was spotless, warm and cosy & had everything we needed. The surrounding hills and loch were beautiful even in the rain and winds. Staff were friendly & welcoming, the food in the restaurant along with the live music entertainment on our first night made it all the more enjoyable. Check in and out was straight forward and we were provided with clear information re our stay. We had the best time and will definitely return for another stay in the future.

We had dinner and breakfast at the hotel. It was good tasting. There were a group of locals playing games or having a meeting of some such in a separate room. It was nice to be in Balmaha verses Luss, which we found overly touristy. We found it easy to get to Inchcailleach Island using the Balmaha Boatyard. We stayed in Dan's Cottage. Our room and bathroom were very nice.
I wish the view was a bit better of the water. The fence and other huts got in the way from our first floor room, but the convenience of being on the first floor was great.

The accommodation was absolutely beautiful, Pod 5 is closest to the water and we had total privacy along with the most amazing view of the loch. The pods are roasty toasty, well equipped & spacious with the softest, comfiest king size bed. Fluffy white towels and white towelling robes are provided for lounging on the patio after a fabulous hot shower. The room was serviced after our first night which we never expected as we were only there for 2 nights so it was an added special touch! Breakfast was delicious, buffet style with a choice of just about everything. The sausages were excellent! We had dinner in the pub on both nights and the food was fabulous, the mostly young staff were all so friendly & attentive. There is a great little shop, ice cream parlour and cafe on site, this place really has everything you would need for a cosy couple of nights away, we will definitely visit again!
Can't even complain about the weather, we were lucky to have 2 fairly dry days, sunny mornings made the view of the loch spectacular, a still, dry day to walk along the water's edge and a late night downpour which made the pod seem even cosier!

Food was amazing and staff really helpful and friendly. The area was beautiful and the walks surrounding the place were fantastic.
I don't know if I got a dodgy ones but the shower had no power and even putting on "high" ( which you're not supposed to do ), I would have had more power standing outside in the rain. Also, not sure if I misunderstood or not, but was told by a member of bar staff ( behind bar ) that it wasnt a "pub", that you cant order/pay for drinks at bar, you have to sit down and wait for waiter. Because of this, drinks were a lot slower than we are used to. Difficult to catch waiters eye when it was busy. Nothing majorly wrong with that, but the nearest "pub" is not within walking distance and we didn't realise that. Still a lovely place though.
