The location and parking was excellent. The staff were very helpful and I would certainly recommend the hotel. It was also good value for money. The bed was comfortable and the room, although basic, was adequate for what we required. The room service was fine.

It is a large old building and the room, especially the bathroom could do with an ungrade. However given the difficulties the hospitality industry has experienced in recent years I can understand that money is extremely tight. The public areas were generally in good repair. The breakfast was disappointing. It was late in starting and some cutlery was not available. There were not enough staff to assist and it was not organised very well. The actual food was disappoing with the quality of some of it. Once again I appreciate that staffing can be an issue as it is difficult to recruit staff and with increasing food costs it can be hard to provide a budget breakfast. I want to provide positive feedback that might assist you as you move forward in these difficult trading times.

Great service from Friendly staff - Anne Marie was in the hotel and both her and the on desk and room staff went out of the way to assist - women's world cup semi final was on during our stay and chef provided complementary pizzas during half time break - great to see going beyond what was expected - Breakfast was great value - Buffet constantly replenished and plenty of choice - Ideal location for public transport to Bristol and Bath so the car was left over the 4 days in the car park

Although the hotel had received a partial refurb on the ground floor - carpets etc , bathroom was a little dated although expected on this listed building this would be recommended to update A few items in the garden missing - lamp posts and bulbs

Quirky old building, plenty of history. The room was large , the bed was a good size and very comfortable. I had a really good sleep .The staff were lovely, very helpful and cheerful. The breakfast was very good value for money ,as was the hotel generally. Nice clean bed and bathroom. The location was excellent for Bristol and Bath the bus stop was almost outside the door. There is a lovely park next door and a very interesting cemetery not far .I would be happy to go back if I am ever in the area again.

As it is on a main road the traffic was a bit noisy ,but that was to be expected. Maybe a little more attention to detail ,back missing on tv remote and bulb gone in lamp .

Staff really helpful and friendly, I have Coeliac disease and the lady that was working the restaurant went out of her way to ensure that I was catered for. The hotel is a little tired but very characterful and clean and tidy. They have a good range of drinks at the bar and the restaurant menu, although limited was reasonably priced and the food excellent, tasty and well presented. I would stay again as short, easy trip by car, 5 mins, into Cabot Circus and lots of secure parking.

I would prefer to check out in person and review the bill rather than just having it charged to my card after I have left, incase of any queries.

The hotel has a faded elegance, and the style of the room reflects that. It was spacious and I loved the massive bed. Despite the fact that it is adjacent to the busy Bath Road, one is able to sleep well, and it's location, which is just outside the city centre means that you are not far from POIs such as Temple Meads Station, and shopping centres, etc.

It's not so much what I didn't like, but I needed to eat breakfast early at 7 am, and it was clear the one staff member working feverishly in the dining area was struggling to get everything ready, so there was a bit of a wait before I could eat.

The location was perfect for us. The staff were pretty good. The woman who was at the front desk when we arrived went out of her way to contact our previous hotel because we left important documents behind. She called several times. The food we ordered from the bar and the buffet breakfast were tasty. Staff were friendly and helpful. Room was clean and it was a generous size. With a king sized bed there still was plenty of room. We enjoyed the decor and found our stay there relaxing and pleasant.

The desk area was dark. A table lamp on the desk would have been helpful..

The room was huge. The hotel quickly accommodated my request for a ground floor room when I realised there wasn't a lift. Plenty of parking and very nice staff. I ate in the hotel and the food was very nice.

The room was at the back and looked out onto a back wall so there wasn't much natural light, but I was only staying overnight so it didn't really matter. And on the plus side there was no traffic noise. I was working in Keynsham, and the traffic in the morning was heavy. However, it was nearly half the price of staying anywhere in Keynsham so I guess fighting through the traffic was worth it.

The staff are always accommodating to our needs of the same room.

I’m not saying ‘didn’t like’ more pointing out something that I know has been pointed out previously on one of our stays - the cooked breakfast! All cooked items are not available together! We were able to get the last 2 sausages with scrambled egg & beans, or we could have waited whilst the hash browns were put out, then 5 mins later some more sausages, then 5 mins later some more mushrooms, but by then the scrambled egg had gone so we would have to wait whilst that was being done. The young girl Freya who was putting everything out, clearing tables, taking room numbers & answering any questions anyone may have had, did a fantastic job on her own, we never saw anyone else in the breakfast room.

The size of the room and bed was great. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Good location and has parking. Ample room to put our dog. Wi-Fi and TV worked perfectly.

It's a little tired around the edges and there was some noise from the central heating system. I feel like the price reflects this so not a big deal.

Great location - close to friends we were visiting and to conveniences such as restaurants, grocery stores and a service station. Large rooms and comfortable beds were a pleasant surprise and the hotel has plenty of free parking spaces.

Our room was at the front of the hotel (in the original part of the manor) on the first floor, in between the stairs and the door leading to the rest of the first floor rooms. Unfortunately once we retired for the night, each time a guest returned to their room, we could quite clearly hear the door leading to those first floor rooms slamming each time someone used it, which also caused out door to rattle in its frame. We ended up creating some white noise with fans stored in the room which helped a little.
