This was an unusual place. It was a modern hotel built within the last 10 years, tucked away in the back of the town. It was not an old private place, sort of delapidated, but it wasnt a souless hotel chain either, so it was modern like a chain but with nice touches of being a bit quirky, definitely unusual but nice. Quite hard to find at night. They employed a lot of local people, of varying ages, very nice. Id a;ways stay there if i was in the general area. The breakfast was great, big helpings of ham and mushrooms, super.

Barking guests dogs in the restaurant at meal times. Bizarre.

The first thing of note was the warm welcome on arrival, immediately made to feel at ease. The room was spacious, very clean lots of room for our clothes and bags. The fridge in the room was a big plus, as was the whirlpool bath, just the ticket after a long drive. We had a wonderful meal in the hotel restaurant which was delicious, possibly one of the best we have had in some time, and very reasonably priced. Breakfast was a truimph, a nice continental selection and the cooked breakfast option was fabulous. The bacon and sausages in particular were out of this world, and the mushroom, and everything else on offer. One of the most wonderful things about our stay though was the staff at Padbrook Park. From the moment we entered the hotel every single interaction with all of the staff was nothing short of delightful, everyone had a smile and nothing was any trouble for them. We will absolutely be back for another visit. Our only regret is that we only stayed for one night.

The room was a good size. Very quiet. Comfy bed. The fridge was very handy, and the jacuzzi bath was lovely. The room and bathroom were very clean. Nice fluffy towels. The evening meal was exceptional. The steak was one of the best I have ever had. The service and friendliness of the staff were warm, helpful, and welcoming. Overall I would stay again.

The small towel rail in the bathroom did not heat the room very well if any towel was on it. Although a large car park, it was not very well lit. We both tripped on the stairs. When using the shower, it was tricky not to flood the bathroom. The over-the-bed decor was interesting. I thought with the room size, there may have been a 6ft bed instead of a 5ft.

This was our third stay within a year and everything was as good as the previous occasions. This time we stayed with friends for a birthday weekend and ate in the restaurant both nights. The food was delicious, reasonably priced and served by efficient staff. The hotel bar stays open until all guests have gone to bed so we were able to enjoy a late night drink after dinner. Our rooms were comfortable and very clean as before. We all left feeling relaxed and will be back again.

Nothing - this is a great hotel which never disappoints.

Great location, 5 mins in a taxi from the wedding we were attending. Ample parking. Our room was clean and tidy and the beds were really comfortable. The selection at breakfast was really good, hot food, cereal, fruit, pastries, even homemade jam. All staff were friendly and helpful.

Our toilet flush was a bit temperamental. You had to push and hold the button in for a good 20-30 seconds for it to flush, but these things happen!

Food staff and room were great, though the fact that we were in a disabled room would have benefited having a shower or wet room as it posed problems having it over a bath

Families were allowing children to run around screaming during mealtimes allowing them to touch food that was on offer for everyone 9pm children were running around the bar area screaming and shouting so that you couldn’t have a conversation

Location was good, quiet and tucked away. Staff were exceptionally friendly and cleanliness was well above standard.

Although the selection on the buffet breakfast was great, the cooking of breakfast could be improved. Fried eggs were on the slimy side and poached eggs were solid! Bacon was either floppy or burnt. Mattresses could do with renewing or swapping to a proper hypnos type.

Friendly and helpful staff; excellent food; comfortable room. One of the reasons for booking here was the fact that they have an EV charger on site. Unfortunately for some reason we couldn't get it to work but the staff helped out as far as they could and the day was saved by the owner who sorted it for us - full marks as we're EV beginners. Dinner was excellent - it was Sunday and we had the roast - no complaints there. Breakfast was also good and plentiful. The room was fairly standard but more than adequate for our needs, comfortable with good TV, internet access and tea and coffee making facilities.

Not a lot. It was only an overnight stay but wouldn't hesitate to book again when we're down that way.

great location just off the M5 staff are all amazing thankyou Lewis for your very professional service gym is amazing again great friendly staff so much equipment on 2 levels and always plenty of space to train. very nice food. breakfast is buffet style both cooked and continental evening meals are a good standard and reasonable in price.

my only little niggle would be the door closers are all in need of adjustment and slam the door closed if your not ready for it. this is a pain late at night and early in the morning but I’m sure can be easily resolved

large area, big car park, spacious everywhere I went. There was a very good bar and food menu for when I arrived late and breakfast was included in the morning - it was lovely. At the price point I have no complaints but a big stand out mention concerning the staff, from arriving to leaving everybody was lovely, often doing multiple people’s jobs to keep the place running, the hotel manager is lucky to have them but I would have also thought probably creates the right culture to keep them doing so well
