First off, the building is beautiful and the work that has been done is exceptional. Your made to feel very lucky to be able to stay in such a historical building. Peter was very hospitable on arrival and throughout our stay.

The building is the perfect mix of Old and New. Rooms are very modern and comfortable and kept pristine throughout the stay by the people who manage the apartments. We particular liked the coffee machine and the bed was massive and so comfortable. The location of the apartments is perfect, at the very bottom of the royal mile. means you’ve always got a downhill walk back home in the evening. Even thought there is traffic during the day you can barely hear it. Thanks again and we look forward to staying the same time next year.

This is my second time staying with Cheval. I had high ecxpectations because the quality of my earlier stay was great. This stay did not disappoint. Everything was perfect with the room- it was well-equipped, comfortable, and tastefully decorated. Everything worked and was of good quality. Peter, who met me to check in, was extremely helpful and amenable, but not intrusive. This particular building has a fascinating history and is in a wonderfully peaceful location, right next to Holyrood park and the Queen’s gallery. The room was fastidiously clean. The bed was also extremely comfy. I would stay here again in a heartbeat and hope to come back soon!

the location, at the end of Royal Mile and next to Queen Palace, the Scottish Parliament and Arthur Seat. The beautiful decoration , modern and classy at the same time. The equipment, from to kitchen, to the bathroom and the heating system, all very functional and high standard. The staff , always ready to fulfill your requirements with kindness. A special thanks goes to Peter who did his outmost to make our holiday special.

the tv is not fully smart. if you want to watch Netflix or other channels, you should bring a Firestick or other streaming gadget.

The warmest greeting we could of asked for. apologies that I have forgotten the gentlemen’s name you were lovely to deal with and your hospitality seemed so genuine. inside apartment everything from Prosecco glasses to toiletries were of high quality and you want that standard when you pay what you pay. the bed was so comfortable. the room is very fresh and looked well looked after. That orange sofa is a delight! loved the grounds to walk our dog for a wee.

we would of liked more bottles water. our second day we only were only restocked with more coffee pods. I cannot think of anything else it was a delightful place to spend 2days.

We had an amazing stay here! We stayed for 3 nights and the room was bigger than we expected for a studio apartment. It was extremely clean, tea, coffee, sugar and toffees awaited us in the kitchen. It’s located right next to the Palace of Holyrood House and Arthur’s seat so it has beautiful surroundings. It’s a short walk up the royal mile to get into the centre of town but we didn’t mind the walk as it’s very picturesque and expect this is why it’s slightly cheaper than the other Cheval apartments in Edinburgh. The staff here are super helpful and friendly too! The lady that checked us in (sorry we forgot your name!) helped us up the stairs with a bag and Peter I believe his name is was very helpful throughout our stay and helped with luggage when we left. I couldn’t recommend the Abbey Strand apartments enough and we’ll definitely stay again when we’re back in Edinburgh.

Stay in the Cheval Abbey Strand Apartments was absolutely delightful. Apartment was clean and provided all the facilities that we needed and location was very close to the main attraction points and most important - it was near train station (12 min walk). Also the host Peter was very helpful in all kinds of situations. For example - my sister forgot her AirPods in the apartment and he arranged everything to send them to Latvia. Many thanks!

fantastic apartment comfortable and clean. good location loved the bath well equipped kitchen. loved the bottle of bubbly. spoke to a receptionist on the phone who allowed us to check in early and leave our bags there the next day would highly recommend and will be booking again for a longer stay

Beautiful, comfortable apartment in this lovely old building at the end of the Royal Mile. We loved the location and style and were especially pleased to find laundry facilities in the lobby. Great combination of the benefits of a hotel and an apartment. This was an ideal base in Edinburgh for my family of five, and we would definitely stay here again.

The apartment was beautiful, it had everything you might been short stay or even a slightly longer stay. The temperature was fantastic, so nice and warm. The bed was comfortable and the sofa bed was better than the typical sofa beds. Great view out the window in the bedroom of Arthurs seat

The main bedroom could have done with shutters like the front room as it was at the front of the building and the lights of the government building opposite were bright and on all night with the light falling on the pillow even with the curtains shut, we did sleep okay even with this. The location is a bit of a challenge if you aren't prepared to be walking a lot as it is right at the end of the royal mile

Beautiful apartment. Very clean (they provide cleaning services every day). Very nicely decorated. Excellent location (next to Holyrood Palace). If you need more tea or coffee or anything, you can just collect it from the reception (open 24h). Staff is very friendly and helpful (greetings to Peter). Everything is high quality (also cosmetics in the bathroom).
